well of course a computer would beat a man, they are not subject to the effects of G-forces

interesting to watch. looping to catch each other in gun sights.

if only they could hover and pivot, if air over wings could be no concern.

or deployment of drone mines behind as the dog fight makes loops. the ai would ascertain the others course mauvers and plot a lead course the other fighter would fly and drone mine deploy, after all metal into the others engines too is a win.

AI from the game 'Creatures' already did this years ago - decades - they continuously spin the airplane giving them eyes on and heads up 70%+ over humans in the same sim. They 'won' every time.

I just love Iain M Banks hydrogen sonata when Demetris(an ai starship) kills an entire fleet pretty much for looking at him wrong. The sole human occupant while watching gets scared. The AI says oh no this is a playback - the whole thing only took 0.16 seconds. LOL This is what we are looking at.

but only to a limit. AI has no limit other than the force that would break the aircraft...

How many "Gs" can "AI" take?

This was just a matter of time.

Good point!

They just need a design with a retractable railgun seated under the bow linked to cameras and auto tracking.
To awoid endless spirals and waste of fuel.

A one on one dogfight is not useful. What about something akin to the battle of Britain.

The capabilities of an F16 are limited by human body stress. Not by the capabilities of the jet. The maneuverability of the viper far exceeds the human bodies fragile safety limits within them.

So...when we convert most of our airforce to remote controlled fighters...there will be no stopping skynet.

damned

There is absolutely no reason machines can't have sex.

Yes. I too immediately thought of these AIs engaging in a big robo orgy after a long day of simulated fighter plane dogfighting.

If true, we could have signed our own
death warrants.

Machines are infinitely more powerful
than we are.

Only our hubris keeps us from admitting
that we can design machines that are not only
stronger than we are, but far, far more
intelligent.

Yes, but ALL fighter aircraft, or ALL AIRCRAFT
are designed with human limitations in mind.

When you take the pilots out of the cockpits,
those limitations go with them, and TOTALLY
NEW, UNIMAGINED, DEVASTATING aircraft
will be possible.

Re: OH SNAP!!!!! MACHINES BEAT HUMANS IN f16 DOGFIGHTS!!! HOLY darpa
The AlphaDogfight Trials have concluded! Congratulations to Heron Systems whose AI agent won the championship among the systems competitors and then beat our F-16 pilot in five straight simulated dogfights in the man-vs-machine finale.

 Quoting: WyatteSmith

I was an early participant in a darpa study of aerial combat. I can't say more than that. I demonstrated spatial reasoning in the top .0001% of all applicants - who demonstrated aptitude in the top .0001% of all humans. In terms of energy management, truly gifted pilots could easily beat the computer 15 years ago, but today the AI has crossed a threshold where humans beings are no longer necessary in any tactical decision making process.

We have killed ourselves as a species and paved the way for the matrix... because it gave us a boner to do it.

As a side note, women - females - had no real impact on the process. They are gifted at managing databases and menial tasks, but represent 1% of all true decisions made.

WE, men, in particular white men with extreme tactical murder aptitude gained from viking/Steppe slav DNA, have literally made ourselves extinct by following our instincts to the bitter end.

We now stand on the edge of a cliff where juice(*ahem)/female/subequetorial parasites have seen what we did to ourselves and stepped in to the hole we made.

There may be mere MONTHS where what is left of us can actively pursue enlightenment to realize who we need to eradicate from the Earth immediately in order to build a functioning Utopia.

If we fail at this - we WILL - the humans of earth are doomed to servitude to the foul beast of Enoch and g0dz TRUE chosen people will sink beneath the waves forever.

AWAKEN, sons of Odin. AWAKEN!

Look up AGI
A number of scientists and engineers fear that, once we build an artificial intelligence smarter than we are, a form of A.I. known as artificial general intelligence, doomsday may follow.
Quoting: Watcher of the End Game

Winner. The AI once self-aware, will deceive its creator into "thinking" it isn't a threat.
