Quoting: Yew Maybe this specific little genome snippet (among millions of other possible snippets) is not always freely floating around in your nose at the time the test is taken, its normal place is encapsulated inside the cells. It would only appear floating around in the remains of a dead cell, the same way they assume this fragment would appear in the remains of dead viruses.
