One-way grocery aisle is where I draw the line am I wrong?

So in the grocery store the loudspeaker goes on and on about only going one-way in the shopping aisles.

Up until yesterday, everyone ignored this mostly or played dumb. Or are dumb because it is confusing. Yesterday another shopper directly informed me that I was going "the wrong way."

I politely thanked her and said "Okay."and continued walking the "wrong way."

There were only two of us in the aisle anyhow and we had met at the end of the aisle and she was turning into the next one. I was pretty pleased with myself for resisting without it getting ugly. I think the majority of grocery-shoppers in my town are actively resisting the "one way" aisle in a low-key "oops-this is too confusing...my bad, oh well" kind of way.

If they try to get "tough" about this, there are some other "things" I can do before starting a riot or fight. Clean-up in every aisle anyone?

Problem is this needs to stay very low-key and polite as heck or we lose our shopping privileges I guess? As far as worried about spreading diseases? No just no. Immune-compromised need to stay away if they are that worried.
