I hate to admit it, but if he did say it, there is an iota of truth to it, except it is worse today when you have a totally volunteer military. WWII Vet's didn't have much of a choice, neither did the Viet Nam or Korea Vet's, who were, for the most part, drafted into service. Today it is by design; they ruin the economy and require college to get a job, so young men don't see much of another choice; they get promised college tuition fees and get Veteran Credits toward a Civil Service job if they join in these times. The whole thing is a mess. But I don't believe Trump said it like the way the Leftists are portraying this.
