merlinnz 12/08/2005 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It´s a sad statement thatw e can´t treat all creatures as "special". A lot of "work" has been done in New Zealand in recent decades to bring in regulations governing net siez etc... I believe, in the past, Japanese Tuna Fishing boats were the "worst" offenders against dolphins. |
Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Mmmm... dolphin meat. So juicy and tender. Like the best combination of seafood and steak you ever had, all in one meat. Smothered in garlic and butter, or lightly singed to keep it´s own flavor. Try some today! Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Squid and cuttlefish, too. Humans do not recognize the sentience of other species, because they are arrogant (after all they think they are the only sentient species in the WHOLE Universe). They also have been programmed to "know" they have dominion over all species (from a myth called Abrahamic Religion). Plus it would make humans uncomfortable to know those whom they exploit are sentient. Humans are the ones devolving, IMO. |

Omphaloskepsis 12/08/2005 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder if this was caused by sonar. You don´t often hear of two different types of cetaceans beaching at the same time. ============================================================ Whales, Dolphins Die on Australian Island 29 minutes ago HOBART, Australia - About 100 whales and dolphins died after beaching on a southern Australian island Sunday, and about 50 more were still at risk, a government official said. Wildlife officers were headed for King Island between the Australian mainland and the southeast island state of Tasmania to help rescue efforts. Early reports said 72 pilot whales and 30 bottlenose dolphins died after beaching at Sea Elephant Bay, Tasmanian state government environment spokesman Warwick Brennan said. Up to 50 more whales and dolphins were believed to be still alive and 800 feet offshore, he said. "The local community, who first found the animals, they have been doing a lot of work over there with the animals," he said. "We will continue to work with the local community as well. When you have a lot of animals like this involved, you need all the help you can." [link to story.news.yahoo.com] 733&e=1&u=/ap/20041128/ap_on_re_au_an/australia_beached_whales |

Cutie-PYX 12/08/2005 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I said it when this was posted last night and I´ll say it again: Evil phuckers! People who are inhuman like this should be made to suffer the same fate as their victims. They didn´t show the dolphins mercy, so none should be shown to them. I hope someone rats them out. |
