I lived there when they filmed it, met everyone. Saw it before it hit the theatres. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78050919 The fuckers gave it 1 out of five back then, now it's like 5/5 one of the best horror films made.. Go figure :) yep, see my post above people got bulled over by the schmaltzy spielberg alien Lmao |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78954691 United States 09/09/2020 01:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is one of the best movies I ever watched. How were they able to cast a shape shifting alien in the movie when it was called out as conspiracy ? and why does the Norwegians have hand guns, they'd have rifles? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75128701 John Carpenter is a genius. If you haven't seen "They Live" watch it immediately. |

Interesting note: James Arness played the 'thing' in this original movie of 1951: he was an American actor, best known for portraying Marshal Matt Dillon for 20 years in the CBS television series Gunsmoke. I saw the original when I was young and the 82 version when it came out in the movies. They did a remake and it SUCKED just like the music of today. JDawn |

NO. it was not a remake. “the thing from another world” was inspired by the novella “who goes there” but was vastly different from the source material. “the thing” is inspired by the same source material and hits a little closer to home. albeit in a much more terrifying way. the newest “thing” movie is actually a prequel meant to occur at the Norwegian camp before the carpenter film. |
