Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go check your AC filter. NOW. If you live in central Texas, you know we have had a lot of rain lately, BUT... I change/clean my AC filters regularly because of breathing problems, so when i pulled the one off my window unit today i was amazed. I have never seen anything like it, almost a carpet of black fungus stuff. Well i guess its fungus. I joked and told my wife i found the Covid they've been spraying! She was not impressed. But yeah check those filters because there is some weird shit in the air. LLiterally.
Yeah i know, no pics, but i bleached it so quick i didnt think about taking any. Sorry |

Window AC units are the worse thing for folks with lung or allergy issues. [ link to homeguides.sfgate.com (secure)] Above is just a list of all ac things to consider. Consider spraying the filter weekly with an anti mold/mildew spray. Let it dry before reattaching. |

Quoting: wingnut1234 Degraded Cedar pollen, maybe? When we lived on Chalk Mt., btw Glen Rose and Stephenville, I was amazed how far the pollen would shoot out from the trees. I thought it was caliche dust for the longest time! LOL |

It’s the Sahara dust. We have changed filters 4 times, dusted/vacuumed every week and we still get it. It’s a nasty black almost like small fibers. It makes me sneeze and gives me a sore throat. Still don’t have it out of the garage. |

Changing your filters regular and keep a record if you are forgetful. Just good habit for best airflow in your system. Also on your compressors machines for those on CPAP and BIPAP devices, for sleep apnea. (Husband is AC guy and I am Respiratory therapist). So both ventilation systems. lol |
