0.1% mortality rate for a disease that has an r0 of around 4 is still pretty fucking gnarly imo, if it infects half the planet in the next year it will kill more than double the people than the armenian genocide in 1/10th the amount of time.

I think there have been seasonal flu outbreaks more fatal though but less infectious, i guess the reason they panicked so much with this virus from the offset is they knew the r0 was way fucking higher than normal for a respiratory infection and they figured, oh shit, if this is 1 or 2% fatal its potentially government collapsing in its severity.

I guess we got super fucking lucky its only less than half a percent, it absolutely 100% stinks of being a lab created virus that they modifed to be very infectious to study.
