Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Did anyone else sing patriotic songs at school in the US and do they still have children do that? I grew up in NJ and remember at least in elementary school (1st and 2nd grade but maybe through 5th) we had a packet of patriotic songs and we would all stand and sing the chosen one of the day during morning announcements. Even at my summer camp which was just a day camp Monday-Friday we had flag raising and lowering ceremonies and every morning the whole camp would sing a chosen patriotic song together afterwards.
This was only 15-20 years ago but I guess things have moved on quickly since the 2000s. Did anyone else do this growing up and does anyone know if schools still do it? I'm sure I could find info online but I'm curious if GLP has any take on the topic. |
