This is an incredibly stupid recommendation. Lockdowns have already been shown not to work. Mask mandates haven’t done much either, as cases are continuing to increase after they were implemented.

People are going to die from the virus anyway, whether lockdowns or masks are imposed. The most that you can do is quarantine the sick, and quarantine those who have medical problems that make them liable to die if they contract the virus, while letting everyone else go about their business unrestricted.

A second, nationwide lockdown will not only completely destroy the US economy, it will permanently destroy it, with no recovery possible. After that, the US will completely implode as a nation state.
