yea..when i got off work today, the wind was blowing enough to clear some of the smoke, and you could see where the fire was above Yuciapa. Crazy how long these can burn.

NO Shit...Been smoked out,for days now,and coming closer and closer ....

These pines,once burned out,they will not grow back for 100 years ...

If it goes past highway 38, Big bear needs to get ready to go ...

Yeah it's pretty bad this time around OP. Unfortunately little sympathy to be found here seeing as most on this forum only want to see California and the west coast burn anyways.

Also get a box fan and bungie cord an A/C filter on the back of it where it intakes air to keep the air inside your home clean at least. Makes a big difference.


Would recommend stocking up on those too because they're about to become a hot commodity and limited supply. ~

when i first moved here back in 2007/08? There was a big fire all along the big bear mountains...i woould sit on my sister's porch and just watch an entire line of fire from the peaks down to like highland/SB/colton area...was crazy as hell, never seen a fire like that before.

Today may be the day I find out if my cabin retreat is gone. Odds aren’t great. In my community area 42 homes are gone, 15 didn’t burn and 2 are damaged. I watched for 4 hours prior to losing power the glow like day near my place. The last video I could see my neighbors house beginning to burn. Second to last video were so many little animals running.

For 8 years we have worked to clean our property, removed over 140 trees. Almost our entire 1.4 acres was racked to the dirt. The forest land though was horrid, years of no cleanup. When the fire started a month ago I knew it was going to get there. There is just so much fuel in the forest.

The only positive, I will not have to worry about another fire in my lifetime.

This is on the Sierra Club for sueing the Fed to stop all logging.
