King Solomon did not follow pagan gods or build temples for them.
As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.

7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods. (1Kings 11:4-8)

That's not true.

Remember that the book of 1Kings (and others) are NOT part of the divinely revealed Torah. It's a human record, like a magazine. It contains truth mixed with non-truths.

How do we know its a lie? Because the bible says any Israelite who worshipped another god had to be KILLED. See Deuteronomy 13.

It also says that pagan temples were to be destroyed. See Deuteronomy 12.

So it's ridiculous to think the king of Israel and the ANCESTOR OF THE MESSIAH just went around worshiping pagan gods and building temples for them.

-----------------------

Why would Israelite scribes write that king Solomon was worshiping pagan gods and building shrines to them??

Let me offer an explanation.

They did so because they were given reports of King Solomon building those shrines. They just wrote what they saw and were not being intentionally dishonest.

But it wasn't actually king Solomon. It was a demon that had taken on the appearance of king Solomon. Yes, God granted King Solomon the ability to enslave demons. But others after him began to do it illegally using knowledge left behind by Solomon. But that's a different story altogether.

 Quoting: Esotiri

There were two Solomons: (1) Solomon the son of David, and, (2) six generations prior, Salmon the son of Nahshon and the father of Boaz.

I Chronicles 3: 4-6

David reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three years, and these were the children born to him there:

Shammua, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were by Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel.

I Chronicles 2: 10-15

Nahshon was the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.

Jesse was the father of Eliab his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea, the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai, the sixth Ozem and the seventh David.

LOL you are kidding aren't you ? Are the thought police coming after me but in the meantime please point our where I called the bible a liar.

1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

This is like Gnostics or Muslims claiming that a fake Jesus was crucified instead of the real one.

Solomon fucked up,and as King of Israel received instant karma.

Thank you. I wanted to know what you meant by fucked up so I went and read King's and found it most "illuminating"

As I said thank you there is much I can use in my research. But while you are here I will ask you who were these other Goddesses that Solomon turned to and why would "The Almighty God" fear them ?

Find that out and you will have your answer.
