During the prior ice age Siberia was not covered in ice, only North America and Northwest Europe. The presense of Atlantis meant they got the gulf stream current that nowadays keeps that part of the world relatively temperate.

Evidence points to either an asteroid strike around what is now St.James Bay or Hudson Bay in Canada, or a massive enough earthquake to sink Atlantis - which according to Plato and Inca records - sunk into the sea practically overnight.

Or the asteroid caused atlantis to sink and here's how: a large enough asteroid hitting either ice or water would immediately vaporize all that water and put it into the atmosphere. All that water in the atmosphere would literally trigger a forty days and forty nights of rain scenario much as described in Genesis. The Larry Niven novel Lucifer's Hammer goes into the science a bit.

It plays out like this -

-astroid landing on ice or water vaporizes water and puts it into atmosphere including high altitudes
-the high altitude moisture messes with global temperature and wind patters, the sudden atmospheric saturation causes historic rainfall on a global scale
-rain or tsunami from the astroid sinks Atlantis
-Warm gulf stream current now reaches farther north, creating a longer Atlantic conveyor belt warming northwestern Europe. Sudden elmination of ice sheets warms North America
-sudden changes in that part of the world causes the abrupt change in Siberia that kills off the mammoths.

Personally I think modern plate tectonics theory is ludicrous. Was Earth once pliable? Probably, in it's early development stage. But, imo, what we see today is one plate and Earth's water sloshing around.

I like the hypothesis that the archaic megalithic monuments were built before the last ice-age, as I mentioned earlier by the Tower of Babel civilization. In this way we can see that there has been no crustal shifting since before Noah's Flood - before the last ice-age. For places like Chichen Itza reveal that the sunlight on Equinox, twice a year, is still creating shadow serpent that strikes the ground (a clue to part of the set of events I mentioned earlier also). Plus the Yucatan is a peninsula and should have easily shifted.

The clues are out there AC and while I personally dismiss Patten's hypothesis I think he's close to the right idea. Mammoths were not only buried in the permafrost but the terrace was carved out of Jurassic shales and sandstones - meaning the sandstone could be waves of deposited ocean floor but misidentified in the timeline as presented in this video.

It's a 33 minute video but one gets the idea after the first 13 or 15 minutes.
