It is THAT time of the year again where the corporations & government offices hit up the employees for donations to the United Way et al.
Strong Arm not as effective when people are still working from home.

All of the panhandling charities know that in order to compete for the gravy they have to act like baby birds and chirp loudly with their beaks in the air.
In many places these organizations have been unwittingly supporting illegal immigration which has been forcing the wages down...creating...poverty.

This isn't just "bird chirping". How quickly you forget about all the food that was spoiled by flood or plowed under in the field when just ready for harvest (over this dam covid scare/fear)....how much meat was murdered/slaughtered and buried allegedly because the dam processing chain got clogged up. All this was wasted and deliberately destroyed food and would have been for us thru this winter....now all gone.

Do you think food is just going to appear out of thin air like the fantasies shown in some sci-fi movies? You would be very WRONG.

We are consuming last years harvest right now in the grocery stores.... and there is nothing coming behind it because all the next in line food was wasted and destroyed. There is nothing until next spring when we try to plant and bring to harvest the next crops that is estimating that there will not be a freaking lockdown and people will actually go out to work the fields and processing plants.

You had better pray a lot or use your Christmas money to buy what food is out there right now and available....at any cost....instead of squandering your money on worthless trinket presents.

Of course I am probably wasting my breath saying this to you. The wise will pay attention. The prudent will take action.... The rest of you will just buy more toys.

The food pantry’s in my area are complaining of people using the service to prep their stockpiles while the homeless and poor are starting to go without. They are running out of food to feed the needy.

I agree with you on that. They don't even require any kind of proof of income or anything...no documents at all. Perhaps it is time for the food banks to aline with with welfare office or food stamp recipients... and at least show some kind of proof of need.

Even in my area the food bank managers bemoan the fact that they just give to anyone in line.

This is a very important issue. Events such as mass civil unrest and revolutions usually aren’t triggered simply by dissatisfaction with the government or its policies; that’s part of it, but the thing that can really give legs to societal upheaval is hunger. With the country as divided as it is, food insecurity is just another straw on the camel’s back at this point.

Have grocery stores give all the food they would throw away to food banks and soup kitchens. We are a wasteful nation. And people could live on a third if what they eat and be fine. Intermittent fasting is healthy. Start now and have even more food to out away. And you will save money and your health.

Idiot. The way to get your own food is to grow it yourself. How are you going to buy food with your job when nobody is selling?

Yup... And with as bad a position as the US domestic food supply is in, we're still doing FAR BETTER than the rest of the world.

What this effectively means though is that our food will get much more expensive as people sell off cash crops for historically high prices.

If you depend on dollar stores or discount grocery chains that buy up nearly past use by date products etc you need to get ready now!

6 months from now those places are gonna look worse than harbor freight tools does now!

Anyone out there whose tried to buy a used lathe mill or etc lately knows what I'm talking about here.

The prices on even beat to hell tools have doubled and tripled in price over the last year... IF you can get what you need at all!

The same thing is already happening to food, people just aren't smart enough by and large to figure it out as fast when it comes to food.

If you have special dietary needs, now is the time to get supplies of critical items on hand!

Hell, even without COVID, anyone with half a brain who remembers the aftermath of the 2016 elections should realize that there's going to be massive supply disruption etc in 26 days NO MATTER WHO THEY SAY WINS!

for those not living in poverty it is missing 1 meal appx. every 1.5 weeks. This would assure that those living in poverty have no added meals lost.

I had a dream about 2 weeks ago, record cold winter.

30-40 below in the midwest.

I don't know how that would affect the 2021 crops but

if it is a longer than normal winter, it could be devastating
