canning jars are a great choice, a sealed container is vital

I wonder if you can get even better results with a vacuum sealer than work with canning Jara.

You need to burp the jars during the curing process by opening the container and letting fresh air in and the smelly air out.

Once it is cured, you could vacuum seal.

Bet your old lady hates sex!

I cut down 12 big stinky greasy sticky baseball size chunks of love while your 13 minute video played.

Cut them, take the fans leaves off. Paper bag for 5 to 7 days. Put in glass jars. Stuff them, burp jars when needed. .62 humidity packs. Cure 3-6 mos.

You’re treating this like your first child. LOL

Right.....

I dry for a week... Hanging... Or until the outside of the buds are near crispy..
...but still have some squishiness..

Then jars, burp every day, or 2 to 3 times a day if possible...watch for mold...

Jars for a month min...the whole point of jars/cure is to bring that squishi moistness back out to the rest of the bud... Also bringing flavor/essence

Nice crop.

Have you ever experienced mold on your plants?
And if so may be the case, how did you handle it?

We got almost the same kind of facial hair growth.

I liked your garden.

Weak plant growth, should be at least head high and bushy if you grow outdoors.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78237296

agree, didn't get these clones in the ground until july which was late.

i'll get them in earlier next year for sure!
 Quoting: OpenHeartMonk

My advice to you is this and you can listen to me or not. When you are ready to put your clones outside make sure that they are about 12-18 inches high or bigger and start supercropping them before you put them outside and continue to supercrop while there is still vigorous vegetatative growth, do not supercrop when the plant starts its budding cycle. Why am I telling you to supercrop? Last year no supercropping was done, plants looked like the ones in the picture and yielded about the same maybe 2 full mason jars filled. This year supercropped the same strain and did the methods above and yielded about 1 Ib per plant, YES I SHIT YOU NOT. Happy Growing!!! Look up Supercropping.

so the jars drying method was not working out very well at all.
lots of condensation even with the lids off.

my solution was to spread the green bud over more jars so that only a little cannabis needed to dry in each jar. even then, the condensation was bad.

so i put them next to a baseboard heater and this is working out really well:

jars on the floor:

also have some loose bud on paper towel in glass cake pans:

The wife makes canna butter with the trimmings, to cook with.

Her edibles are always VERY strong LOL
 Quoting: JoeNobHead

butter is great but coconut oil absorbs at least 2X as much THC as it has more fat

used to do butter, now with oil I use much much less for the same effect
 Quoting: Ima Pseudonym

Coconut oil and Butter contain nearly the same amount of fat. Butter usually has slightly less as it contains a very small amount of water. Higher grades of butter contain less water. Ghee has zero water. Same amount of fat as coconut oil.

I have never used coconut oil for cannabis(I do eat coconut oil everyday) and I have heard/read great things so I am Not discounting it.

I believe I did read a decade ago some guys were saying coconut oil works better for cannabis infusions because it has more medium chains triglycerides that the digestive system processes faster. If that is the case it may be worth trying a batch with MCT oil. I use that stuff in my coffee everyday.

well the dye is somewhat cast in this case.
the bud was trimmed green into jars, which was bad.
now i'm trying to salvage it.
part of the issue is a space premium.. i have limited space to do this.
but you can see, some are in jars here, and some are in larger, open pans.

I use coat hangers. Tie the stems to the coat hanger and let them dangle. You don't want them touching anything. I've done this for over a decade. I typically dry them in the grow room or a closet with a heater.

For your molded bud, depending on how molded it is, you could probably still make edible butter with it. Spray some hydrogen peroxide on it and let it dry, see if it gets worse or not. Keep the molded stuff away from the good stuff, completely separate rooms if possible.

Re: Harvesting Cannabis in the Back Yard
I'm in Canada too and I grew 3 plants outdoors this summer. 2 of them i brought in about 2 weeks ago and brought the last one in yesterday.

You say you hang the plants for 2 to three weeks. I dont think you have to hang them that long do you? I hang mine for a just over a week then put them in jars with a humidity pack for about 3 weeks.

The plant i brought in yesterday was one of five clones of an earlier batch. I only have room for 4 plant in my indoor grow tent so i stuck the smallest one outside. It never grew as big as my indoor plants but i think it grew the most bud out of all of them.

The indoor ones still have 2 weeks before i cut them down. I cut the outdoor one down a little early cause the nights are starting to get cold here
