Green vein kratom (red vein at night)
Vitamin D3 (at least 10,000 IU/day) plus K2
EMDR therapy for the PTSD
T For Texas, T For Tennessee!

The virtue of courage is a prerequisite for the practice of all other virtues, because otherwise one is virtuous only when virtue has no cost. There are times when something needs to be done, and yet we know that if we step up and do this needful thing, we will pay a heavy personal price. -C.S. Lewis

The Key to Unhappiness

"Want to be miserable, resentful, and bitter? Few people do, and yet many people are. Why? Because many people have the one primary character trait that leads to unhappiness. And you need to avoid it. Nationally syndicated talk show host Dennis Prager explains."

"You can't be a happy person if you aren't grateful.
You can't be a good person if you aren't grateful.
Almost everything good flows from gratitude.
Almost everything bad flows from ingratitude."

"Ingratitude guarantees unhappiness.
It is as simple as that.
There isn't an ungrateful happy person on earth.
There isn't an ungrateful good person on earth."

It is not that I am ungrateful, resentful or bitter. It is the flashbacks of people slapping me, choking me, burning me and hurting me. They are very real and cause me psychological pain.

Kratom

Phenibut for anxiety (can only be used once or twice a week though)

Lion's mane mushroom (for TBI)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79472217

I've used all three of these. While only psychotherapy has somewhat helped my PTSD, I've had good experiences with what you mention. A note on Kratom, for me it can sometimes cause some stomach upset and so I take it with ginger. Some people have claimed kratom to be addictive and not good for long term use. I don't know of any consensus on this in the scientific community but, nevertheless, something to keep in mind.

Re: Supplements that may help ptsd and depression.
I am seeking supplements that will help with severe ptsd and depression stemming from psychological trauma.

I am not looking for a high. Cannabis makes me paranoid. I am looking for something that will help with the flashbacks, anxiety and sadness.

I have been on every prescribed antidepressant that there is, and im giving up on drs ever helping me.

I have tried lithium oretate, 5 htp, vitamins etc. many various things.

I will never be fully healed but I would like some quality of life. I know something out there will help.

Please no rudeness as this is hard for me to even reach out and ask for help.

A can of chicken soup every day for about a year, adding garlic onion ginger in the soup can speed up the healing process.

One year is a rough guess. Your body will let you know by feeling by then you may not need it everyday anymore .

Hope it helps.

Vitamin D3, megadose it. It's the anti-depression vitamin.
For relaxation I like liquid Valerian, a full dropper at night.

I've taken kratom just about everyday for nearly three years -- 3-5 grams a day, with no problem

though best to takes "tolerance breaks" now and then -- so it won't lose it's effectiveness

Re: Supplements that may help ptsd and depression.
Your nervous system was de and re programmed by the intense trauma. It changed you physiology.

The question is, how to reset it.

This is different for all of us as the pathways are many.

It took 15 years of work to release most of the constant trauma that was my childhood (and as a result, the further trauma that had become a good part of my adulthood).

Reiki, meditation, massage, regular epsom salt baths, being in nature, eating whole foods, regular juice fasts (I invested in a Vitamix), lots of quiet and rest, allowing the tears to come up, allowing the pain to surface (it took a looong time to be able to give space to myself for this because it requires we feel what we had buried - this was very difficult but the most effective thing of all toward a 'lightness' I had maybe never felt), I invested in crystals that helped cleanse (a large double terminated black obsidian wand was extremely effective in sponging away much of my pain), sitting in a hot tub under the moon and stars, partnering with a naturopathic physician, hiking, more crying, allowing myself to remember so I could release the memory, going back in time and giving love to each of my selves that were hurt, loving them and holding them and playing with them.... so many healing modalities I used with almost no understanding of anyone in my life. I essentially allowed my soul to lead the way. If I got the urge to dance, sing, walk in the grass in bare feet, feel the moon light on my naked body, watch a baby eagle learn to fly instead of answering my phone, I did. These all brought healing. So many miracles all around us in nature if we may attention.

The only thing I would have done differently is seeking therapy by a holistic therapist/counselor, so I could gain insight into my self with more clarity. My walk with the Holy Spirit was, and is, the most powerful support I have.

I am glad you are willing to persevere on your journey of healing. In some ways I believe by you healing yourself you heal the many.

Much love to you.

It was the naturopath that helped me discover the right combination of supplements to help me. They would change through the years.

I hope you can afford to see one, and have good ones in your area to choose from.

Foods high in the nutrient Selenium, such as Brazil nuts can make a person cheerful for a while. But don't eat more than 5 Brazil nuts a day. They are naturally somewhat radioactive.
