First thing you need to work on is getting a good night's sleep. Sleep deprivation will whack you out during the day. PTSD sufferers rarely ever sleep well. Also work on your diet and get plenty of exercise. If your joints are an issue, try swimming.

Yes I am insomniac. I was prescribed trazedone for that. I do not like taking it though as it makes me sleep for too long and then I am groggy all day. I eat mostly salads. Cucumbers and green veggies. Also almonds. I try to walk everyday it does help. I love swimming.

Re: Supplements that may help ptsd and depression.
I am seeking supplements that will help with severe ptsd and depression stemming from psychological trauma.

I am not looking for a high. Cannabis makes me paranoid. I am looking for something that will help with the flashbacks, anxiety and sadness.

I have been on every prescribed antidepressant that there is, and im giving up on drs ever helping me.

I have tried lithium oretate, 5 htp, vitamins etc. many various things.

I will never be fully healed but I would like some quality of life. I know something out there will help.

Please no rudeness as this is hard for me to even reach out and ask for help.

Carnivore diet

Eliminate all vegetables, carbs, supplements (they're all man made), herbs, sugars.

Meat and dairy only.

Thank me later.

I don't know you, but I pray that YaH would be with you and help you.

You are very brave to share what you are going through and ask for help.

If I knew what could help you, I would share it.

The only thing I can do is pray for you.

Shalom, and I hope only the best for you in this life and the one to come.

Re: Supplements that may help ptsd and depression.
Op I posted earlier about Beta Blockers for PTSD. Propranolol specifically.

Depression is the result of biochemical issues in the brain. The best course is pregnenolone,

pregnenolone, or pregn-5-en-3β-ol-20-one, is an endogenous steroid and precursor/metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of most of the steroid hormones, including the progestogens, androgens, estrogens, glucocorticoids, and mineralocorticoids. In addition, pregnenolone is biologically active in its own right, acting as a neurosteroid.

Pregnenolone is made from cholesterol in the body. And as it says above most of the hormones are made from it. If depression is biochemical (hence all the pills for it by big pharma) it means that there is an imbalance in production.

200 mg preg a day has cured people-documentated cases-of depression.

Word of caution, DHEA should not exceed 10mg a day for men

Where did you read that? Because I did a lot of research and nowhere did I find anything about harmful side effects besides when massively overdosing. You can overdose on salt or water too...

Re: Supplements that may help ptsd and depression.
I'm sorry, you do not deserve to continue to live with the emotional pain from the physical pain you did not deserve. Everyone is different and responds differently to healing methods. I use supplements, adaptogens like Rhodiola. Brazil nuts can restore serotonin. Even just an Epsom salt bath can remove toxins.

When looking at patterns of how trauma sets in we can see similar patterns. The flash backs and cycle of energetic patterns. Why does our mind want to recreate our most painful moments?
Our minds acted to protect by removing us from the horrors at hand because it was uncomprehensible in the moment, but our minds were present recording the trauma. As we desire to heal and our life circumstances create stability these flashes of pain want witness. The trauma wants a voice. Physiciologically, our brains were rewired during the endurance of the trauma. And so many of us know it wasn't just one event. Retraumatzation occurred over and over and we lacked the capability to manage the overwhelming pain.

We must learn to give voice to the pain. We must work to properly connect and channel the voice of the traumatized innocent. We must rewire our thoughts and empower our soul to the truth that we are capable of surviving and thriving beyond the trauma.

Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, rewiring the brain. Find supplements that support this, adaptogens that work on you. Meditate, seek nourishing relationships, find a healing space and expand it. Look for a technique that resonates with you and begin to rewire your brain to know your truth. No trauma will kill the greatness you possess. Nothing truly can harm the true, infinite you. You can heal. The tools are scattered and must be tinkered with, but you are moving towards it.

"SAM-e" supplement (200-400 milligrams) plus try a wheat free diet for a few weeks and see if your mood improves. Also daily exercise for half an hour outdoors.

The above worked very well for me.

There are no real happy pills...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79474282

I know I will never be happy, but I would like to get through life easier.
 Quoting: FireBorn

Don’t tell yourself you will never be happy. That is a self fulfilling prophecy. Our minds are strong and can make us sick or well. Tell yourself you are better and better every day in every way. Say it over and over throughout the day. There is power in positive thinking. And keep taking things that work for you as well. If you are positive then what you need will come to you. Pray also for guidance and direction.

The Key to Unhappiness

"Want to be miserable, resentful, and bitter? Few people do, and yet many people are. Why? Because many people have the one primary character trait that leads to unhappiness. And you need to avoid it. Nationally syndicated talk show host Dennis Prager explains."

"You can't be a happy person if you aren't grateful.
You can't be a good person if you aren't grateful.
Almost everything good flows from gratitude.
Almost everything bad flows from ingratitude."

"Ingratitude guarantees unhappiness.
It is as simple as that.
There isn't an ungrateful happy person on earth.
There isn't an ungrateful good person on earth."

The Key to Happiness is Gratitude.

.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79474282

Yes we need to count our blessings and be grateful. We all have things to be grateful for. And we also need to acknowledge when we feel bad and accept it. Knowing we will move through it. Crying is also beneficial for the brain. Trying to resist feeling bad makes us feel bad. Give yourself time to feel. Then tell yourself it is ok. And soon you will start feeling better again. It is kind of a roller coaster at times. But it is normal.

"Dennis Prager talks about one of humanity's biggest pursuits--happiness. It's mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Therapists and psychologists (and even pharmaceutical companies!) make their careers out of helping people be and feel happy. And we all know that being unhappy, and being around unhappy people, is no fun. Dennis will discuss why happiness, while great for personal and emotional reasons, is far more than a selfish pursuit. It is a moral obligation. Being happy around others is a necessary ingredient of growing up and accumulating friends. No one likes a Moody Mary. Also, more happiness makes for a better world. After all, how many of the world's dictators and tyrants are motivated by happiness? None! So, learn how to be happy and learn why being happy is so important."
