Carnation Instant Breakfast BARs, so frick'n killer, not too sweet, just a super good taste and had vitamins and made you feel good.

Cooking bags, I used to eat them every day, so killer on buttered toast or mashed potatoes, they had five or six I think:

turkey and gravy
beef and gravy
salisbury steak and gravy
chicken ala king
chipped beef

I think I'm missing one.

Yeah, I always say that's one of the reasons McDonald's fries are not good anymore is they don't use lard anymore.

Not to mention, their hamburgers used to be phenomenal, but eh, what are they now?

I know. I rarely go there anymore. That was the main reason I would go by there and get a chicken sandwich. Just so I could get some of their slaw to have with it.

Now they have some sort of broccoli salad creation in it's place. No thanks.

It would be something that New Englanders would know as they're sold no where else in the country. They're still on the market but taste like garbage compared to when I was a kid. They're akin to Ding Dongs but were much much better. The New England name is Ring Dings. Oh and the Welch's grape juice (which is made in MA as well as where the grape vineyards are) is nothing today compared to the awesome taste it had when I was a kid, too.

They were rather small. I remember those mini chips.

Morton's Frozen doughnuts. God, they were good.

I miss the original Captain Crunch cereal of the 1960s. Some time around the 1970s, they started coating it with a new sort of varnish (or maybe increased the amount of varnish used previously), and made the cereal into something too-crunchy that hurts the gums and doesn't digest so well.

Hershey's Chocolate Milk Mix. There is probably a black market for that stuff in the USA somewhere.

There is some good news - after 48 years on the West coast, Ralphs grocery in my area started carrying Turkey Hill Ice Cream. I can FINALLY get Black Raspberry ice cream in Los Angeles! I waited a long time for this.

Another thing I miss are the boxed date bar mixes mom used to fix for desert. Those disappeared from the store shelves some time around the late 1970s or early 1980s.

I miss lunch meat the way it was before all the companies started injecting water into it. I stopped buying lunch meat when they pulled that trick.
