Green 'Mystery Light' Hits N.H. Plane

(WBZ) MANCHESTER, N.H. Authorities are asking the public for help in tracking down a mysterious green light that lit up the side of a passenger plane leaving Manchester, New Hampshire this week.

Police say the pilot of a United Airlines commuter plane noticed the green laser light hitting the plane just after seven o'clock Wednesday evening. It was flying over Manchester at the time.

Police say the light illuminated the plane briefly but did not affect the flight.

The police and FBI are trying to find out where the light came from. They say there is no indication so far that the light was intended as a threat or to disrupt air travel.

They believe it came from an area on the east side of the Merrimack River bordered by Maple and Pine streets on the east and west and Spruce and Valley Streets on the north and south.
