My first modem was 1200 baud but I actually downgraded to 300 baud because I wanted to have the same modem as my friend for our commadore 64s'.

Not very many of the BBS's I were calling were up to 1200 baud yet anyways so the downgrade wasn't as bad as it sounds.

After that I pretty much had every speed of modem.

I miss those BBS's.

We had two landlines back then, probably because downloading a nudie pic took 3 hours.

Modem to modem Doom was great, but you could only play with one buddy.
