It would be nice to have some Baptists on the court. However, the Clintons claimed to be Baptists, and Jimmy Carter was a member of a Baptist church until he got out of office, and I think Gore claimed to be Baptist. So simply being a member of a Baptist church would be no guarantee that a candidate would be righteous in thought, word, or deed.

It's the United States Supreme Court, not the world supreme court. Most of the US is still Christian, and Catholic schools in the US are much better than public schools on average, so this makes sense to me.
