What's the most practical way to become rich?
I honestly want/need financial freedom.

I hate this financial prison I'm in.

Only getting to really live for two weeks out of the year.

Stop thinking in “lack” and think “prosperous”
That’s an over simplification but it will work
Think of a successful businessman: gets up early, a risk taker, confident in his decisions, focused on what he wants and takes steps knowing he will reach his goal. Seriously why does one man succeed while another doesn’t? The way he thinks. Look into it

Spend less than you make.

Put 5-10% of your take home pay away, treat "paying yourself" the same way you would your car payment, rent, etc.

Second hand, a la Goodwill, etc. for jeans, shoes, kitchen stuff, etc. shouldn't be a problem.

Coupons at the grocery store work if you only use them to buy things you already use.

Turn the temperature down 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in the summer.

Re: What's the most practical way to become rich?
Make regular deposits (every payday) to a retirement account. If your employer offers a match put in at least enough to get the full match.

A person who begins at age 20 who deposits $2,000 per year ($167 per month) will have just over $1.5 million by age 65. That assumes you put the money in a broad pool of stock market investments like an index fund. A good example is the S&P 500 fund.

Every time I post this someone responds: “you only have $90,000 if you do that.” This is incorrect, because it doesn’t take into account the earnings you get over your lifetime. Your money working for you earning dividends and capital gains is very powerful over time. In fact, if you deposit a little more over time the number gets much bigger. If you increase your annual deposit by 3%, you have about $2.3 million by age 65.

You might say, “I don’t have $167 per month to save”. This information tells you you should save as much as you can as early as you can in life. A person who saves the same $2,000 per year starting at age 30 only has a little over $500,000 at age 65. Also, if your employer offers a match as many do, that can effectively double the amount of your deposit.

Also remember that money is just a thing of this world. Life is short and when it is over the balance in your savings account won’t matter to you at all. The more important thing to be concerned with is eternity, and the only way to salvation there is through Jesus Christ, the one and only true Messiah, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Seek him, and the things of the earth will have less appeal when put into their proper perspective.

Most people ACCUMULATE wealth over time.

So pick a trade that pays well...go to trade school for it...work at that job for decades while saving money (accumulating wealth) from each pay check.

You said "most practical way"...not the "quickest".

Stop working for money and learn to put money to work for you.

You'll never "become rich" by exchanging your time for money unless you are paid exceptionally well for your time.

Take advantage of easy low interest credit.

In today's climate it should be easy to take out a bunch of loans at 3-5% interest and invest that money on 10%+ returns.

Work on an oil rig platform in the North sea?

Become an arms dealer, start a war and supply both sides?

Become a minister, start a church and directly steal from the public?

Start a country become it's leader and directly steal from the public?

Be a contestant on The Price is Right and cheat?

Go to Washington and pretend that you know what you're doing?

Learn how to lie cheat and steal like everyone else?

Wealth is not everything. But for some it's the only thing. Anyone can become wealthy really if they try hard enough. But will you be able to live with who you become in order to get there?

It's not making money that's of concern. It's HOW you make your money that's of concern.

There are ethical ways and not so ethical ways.

Choose wisely!

Buy a triplex with 3.5% down. Live in one unit rent the other 2. After a year move out, rinse and repeat. That’s how I became free. I spend maybe 10 hours a month on my 25 units and make 10-12k/month profit.
