I have a friend that lives in a suburb of Seattle. Within a short 5 months, she's nearly done a complete 180. Back in May, her social media was flooded with images and videos supporting George Floyd, BLM, protests. Then in June, they tapered off with comments like "the violent protests are not part of BLM". Now, she doesn't post anything political on her social media.

I talked to her a couple weeks ago - she's voting primarily Republican and she is voting for Trump. I was floored. She labels herself as an "old school Democrat" - so, she's not fully on board to walk away - or at least that's what she's telling herself to get through the shock that she's voting for Trump. And, of course, she's not telling anyone in her liberal circle. Sounds to me that a lot of Democrats are walking away and not talking about it.
