Working at home is pure icarnation of evil.
Only demons whorship working at home.
 Quoting: adolfodiaz

I don't worship WFH but I prefer it to sitting in a lifeless cubicle all day long. Besides, I need the money to pay the bills. If you want to pay my bills, I'll gladly volunteer working outside or out of the house in a non-cubicle setting.

The truth to the matter is you choose your job nobody else. (Unless your a slave).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79507981

no, they pretty much choose you in every case.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39772036

No, you choose your vocation.

If you are in a service-related job in contact with the public ... well, you chose that. Own up to it. Change it, if you don't like it.

If you took 'women's studies' at your local Uni, then you get what you deserve.

Yes, exactly. Make Better Life Choices and you won't be in a tight spot.

Think Boy, think. Use your noggin for more than a place to fit your balaclava.

Enraged morons.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

He’s finishing a degree online to work in the medical field! I think people here forgot what the op was about. An asshole butted into his zoom class and said his choice of work that is not a stay- at -home type of position is a lower choice than his, that allows him to currently work from home. That’s just arrogance and made no sense because I’m sure if he’s an educator like his baby momma, he is basically in a service industry too, serving up information to students.

Right now, I'm working ER and working for an electrical contractor playing tool gopher and bending conduit. I am also taking a course I need to apply to Respiratory Therapy skewl.

Ironically, in spite of having a BS in Biochem, an AAS in Paramedic Technology and Fire Science, an AAS in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, a certificate in carpentry and masonry, a certificate in industrial electrical, and a couple of graduate certificates, I have only had a combined A&P and I need human phys plus a couple of other classes.

One of my professors is some ultra-left bimbo with baby-brain as she's a 'new mommy' while extolling the virtues of abortion. I have to tolerate, I need the class by spring. Well, I went and stuck my foot in my mouth and told her fuckin' idiot husband who butted in on our Zoom conversation that some of us who live on Planet Earth don't have the luxury of working from home.

His response and this sums up educators: You should have made better life choices. I shit you not.

I swear to Christ if me and this pasty fuckin', bushy-bearded, hipster cuck had been face-to-face I'd have knocked his damned teeth out! I mean, seriously just a 3-2 and dropped his ass to the pavement. ]

I am so sick of this! Pray to the Lord to give us all strength.

Even better are people who work from home and advocate more shut downs for their safety YET, I AM WORKING IN THE FIELD EVERY SINGLE DAY AND EXPOSED TO HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE AND MY OPINION DOESNT MATTER
 Quoting: Asianchris22

Or people who work for government and can work at home yet advocate for mom and pop businesses such as restaurants, gyms and other types of businesses to be shut down in the name of keeping this pampered government worker class safe. They don't care if other people are being driven out of business and bankrupted because they still get their paychecks courtesy of taxpaying small business owners who are now being driven out business by government covid mandates.

You need to adapt to the new normal and develop skills that you can monetize while at home.

The old normal, going to the office kind of nirmal, isn't coming back and that's good.

When you leave the class.... tell him to say that exact same thing to a black mother after her son gets shot in the hood.

Tell him to say that to all the Leftist college grads with $200k debt and no job

Tell him to say that to all the women who abort their innocent babies

Not true.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73138097

Actually yes it is true.

I've been working from home since the hoax began in March. I actually love it (not my job, just the WFH part). I typically log in around 8:30 AM, check my email, go take a shower, prepare a nice breakfast and settle back into work with my cup of coffee (all on the clock). I get paid about $60k/year which is enough for me as a single guy with no children (gf would have it another way if she could but I'm not stoopid).

What's the stop my company from outsourcing my job to a d0thead in India at a fraction of my salary? The training would be the hardest part as I do a lot of different task and I'm actually quite good at it..but with the right training, anyone with an IQ around 100 can do what I do.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75991465

Exactly and its going to happen
 Quoting: Reluctant explosion

Yep
Like I said, as long as capitalists are in control, this nation is doomed. If someone in India can do your job cheaper, you are overpaid. This is what is going to happen.

Someone prove me wrong.

I expect this country to descend further until it rivals India and or countries in Central America.

The people in the stock market demand no less and want a huge return on their global investments.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79500030

We have coprotocracy where the top tier is paid to make money wth no regard to the local economy. Read about Henry Ford, that is the type of capitalism that built the U.S. He innovated ways to use products farmers grew so they could in turn make enough money to buy his products (using soy beans to make dashboards.)

I don’t know what you prefer over capitalism but if you visit a communist or recently communist country you will not want that.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79508127

Truth is for a philosophy class. Here are the facts. The majority of jobs that are currently being done from home are so easily outsourced that mass layoffs have and will worsen in the years ahead.

The corporate overlords of the 'soft-skills' crowds have seen the blood in the water and are beginning to circle. If Jenny from HR can do her job in her PJs with webcam and Zoom then Jugdesh in Banglore can do it and for two dollars a day.

Only a fool would believe 'soft-skills' are the future. That's like saying, "be a professional Youtuber." It's unsustainable.

When the unraveling comes, that dude and those like him will be the first to crumble. Sounds like he is very smug and is good at gaming the system, but when that system starts to break down, there will be no more gaming it. He is one layoff away from needing to be talked down off the ledge.

I know people who have spent their entire lives coddled by these corporate and government systems, where they were financially taken care of to the nth degree for decades. These people still try and squeeze every last nickel out of those systems, the same ones they have milked for 20, 30 and 40 years. They've had a good run, but it could be that the run is just about over.

Some of us have taken the long hard road, sounds like that is the road you're on. That is the road I took, and it has made me a more resilient and God-centered human. You are filling your resiliency reserve tank right now, that dude on Zoom has no such tank. People have too much invested in these human, and in some cases Godless systems.

Here is an example I see all the time: obese people driving a $50,000 vehicle, pulling into a hospital or clinic. Take away any one of legs of their triad (vehicle, healthcare, infrastructure), and their world would collapse.
 Quoting: AggregateThreat

You nailed it!!! I totally agree with this and see it all the time. People on Medicaid running to the emergency room with the sniffles, never paying a cent for their health care, while the working stiff has to forgo medical care or make payments on deductibles and co-pays when they do get sick or injured. Many of these same freeloaders are the ones rioting in the streets, looting and burning down cities, and bashing the working stiff who is supporting their lazy asses.

Re: Work-At-Home Crowd: Tone Deaf To The Rest Of Us.
The bearded weirdo is jealous that you're working on the farm and making infrastructure while he is playing mommy to a feminist wife.

You're apparently jealous that he's staying home acting like a woman all day.

Mutual jealousy.

Re: Work-At-Home Crowd: Tone Deaf To The Rest Of Us.
.

OP, you and others who PHYSICALLY go into work everyday are truly keeping the REAL world going for the rest of us during this scamdemic.

I’ve been teleworking since March 15. I’ve only been in the office three times, and then only briefly. I miss the camaraderie and in-person interaction with my supervisor and office mates. It’s been so long, that I’ve literally forgotten some of my coworkers’ names.

The grass is always greener on the other side. I once dreamed of a job where I could work from home. Now I’m sick of it!!

Regardless ...thank you for your sacrifices for us all!

I'm working at home, mainly because back trouble, but I most certainly salute you.

That professor is a narcissistic idiotic a**hole.

I used to work at a large university and found many of the professors (especially psych dept) to be complete lunatics, or egotistical a**holes. A few actually were decent humans and great teachers.

maybe in your next incarnation you will learn some compassion, but its doubtful

Compassion for what? A fake pandemic? Sounds like the "teacher" and her pompous hubby need a dose of compassion and reality.

Weird type of sarcasm you have, as everything anon said is truth.

If you have something unique to offer or teach, it has value to others interested in the same, regardless of location. If you don't, which has been a life choice and path, you will always be in the mindset of employee, not sole creator.
You do you.

I have created lots of things timber frame homes, barns, and crops. I have even written a couple of books. I can teach emergency pre-hospital medicine, biology, chemistry, woodworking, carpentry, and electronics. I speak two languages fluently. Two others enough to get by.

What the fuck can you create? Youtube content? Tweets? AC troll posts? I bet you're a non-American working in some shithole like Bangalore, Jakarta, or Manila.
