Colorado's largest-ever fire brings new round of evacuations
A Colorado fire that's been burning since mid-August flared up anew Saturday amid warm, dry weather and high winds, prompting new mandatory evacuations, authorities said.

The Cameron Peak Fire, the largest wildfire in state history, burned through 187,537 acres with 57 percent containment, according to the U.S. Forest Service. The blaze west of Fort Collins thrived as gusty winds blew in ahead of a cold front.

The National Weather Service forecast a high temperature near 70 Saturday for Loveland. The agency warned of "hazardous weather" caused by winds up to 50 mph. Rain and snow were possible Sunday night before warm temperatures were expected to return.

Governor is letting it happen.

If a Republican were gov the media would be all over him and this would be over. He holds regular COVID briefings, btw.

They want these fires as disastrous consequences of "climate change" because their lies are falling apart.

I live 20 miles from this fire and it's still moving. We had a fire start yesterday that got within 6 miles of us, the Cull-Wood fire. Just missed evacuating by a hair. We have lots of dead pine from beetles, dry grasses and fall leaves-not to mention its dry as a bone. We had a little misty rain this morning, but it'll dry quick. The winds are what to worry about- they spread the fire and embers quickly and limit abilities to fight it with 70mph gust.

Hopefully not, but cigarette smokers need to stop tossing their butts outside car windows.

When I had to do community service for flashing women in public, the #1 litter item I saw on the sides of roads were cigarette butts.
