Another I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis closed due to sagging beam
I-35W At Hwy 62 Closed Due To Sagging Bridge Beam

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Transportation officials have closed northbound Interstate 35W at Highway 62 Monday afternoon and will remain closed until further notice because of a problem with a temporary bridge.

Kevin Walker with the Minnesota Department of Transportation said that a beam underneath a temporary bridge appears to be sagging.

As a safety precaution, crews are inspecting the bridge on westbound Highway 62 that is currently under construction and runs above northbound I-35W.

The southbound lanes of I-35W remain open, as well as Highway 62.

The temporary bridge is past of the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown Construction project.

MnDOT said the Minnesota State Patrol will be using extra enforcement to ensure that motorists stay away from the closed areas.
