Anonymous Coward User ID: 4776 United States 10/29/2007 05:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Another I-35W Bridge in Minneapolis closed due to sagging beam I-35W At Hwy 62 Closed Due To Sagging Bridge Beam MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Transportation officials have closed northbound Interstate 35W at Highway 62 Monday afternoon and will remain closed until further notice because of a problem with a temporary bridge. Kevin Walker with the Minnesota Department of Transportation said that a beam underneath a temporary bridge appears to be sagging. As a safety precaution, crews are inspecting the bridge on westbound Highway 62 that is currently under construction and runs above northbound I-35W. The southbound lanes of I-35W remain open, as well as Highway 62. The temporary bridge is past of the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown Construction project. MnDOT said the Minnesota State Patrol will be using extra enforcement to ensure that motorists stay away from the closed areas. [ link to wcco.com] |
