Parallels between Anitfa/BLM and Mao Zedong's Red Guard | |
nautonier Offer Upgrade User ID: 79320504 United States 10/29/2020 01:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Red Guard was the name given to an organization of mostly young people identifying themselves as cultural/social justice revolutionaries in Communist China. Their stated goal was to eliminate what was termed as The Four Olds: Old Customs, Old Culture, Old Habits, and Old Ideas. More on The Four Olds: [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] These cultural and social norms in China were to be replaced by new communist norms, with the support of the Chinese Communist Party: new customs, new culture, new habits, and new (politically correct) ideas. I don't want to barrage GLP with 10 paragraphs on this topic, so I'll bullet point the parallels between what the Red Guard did in China and what social justice types, BLM (which is actually a political Marxist organization,) and Antifa are doing in the U.S. currently. * Changing the names of buildings, cities, and streets * Targeting and harassing individuals who do not adhere to the new politically correct speech * Destruction of private property * Looting * Violent riots * Toppling statues/removing monuments * Censorship of politically incorrect speech * Burning books (today, this would include the removal digital titles - whether streaming films or digital books that have "updates" (censors) pushed to E-Reader devices.) * Removing religious statues and depictions * Eliminating offensive art Lastly, it's worth pointing out that some Antifa groups actually refer to themselves as "Red Guards."
