I met a friend there (he was in NYC, me in DC) in 2012,
and it was a scary place then. We drove down the wrong
streets trying to find the "real Philly cheesesteak"
and hoping the car rental was reliable.

Listen to this...

Years back in the 1990's my self and the company I worked for always went to the Michigan 400...

We stayed in Lansing at some hotel with a strip club across the street...

The only problem was the hotel only had vending machines no kitchen...

So the lot of us all hammered up after the strip club walked to a dominoes pizza, about 20-30 minutes away from the hotel...

We got directions from a hotel worker, I forget who it was but they were obviously and idiot...

Here is why...

There was like 7 or 8 of us all white and all hammered...

During that walk we noticed the neighbor hood was very dark, no streetlights and scummy looking...

Sure enough a jogger came by us on a bmx bike just looked at us and said nothing rode off...

Once we get to dominoes the owner quickly realizes that we were all Canadians and very drunk...lol

He asked us how we got there, we told him, he loudly said WHAT??? with a look of horror on his face...

The owner of the shop made our pizzas, closeD his shop for him to dive us all back in his large chevy truck...

I'll never forget that night, He probably saveD lives that guy...

He said that we probably would not have made it back the way we came without trouble...

True story...
