Center Occasional Paper Exposes a Perfect Storm of Threat

The original Occasional Paper broke the news that the family of Iraqi nuclear physicist Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar – known as Saddam Hussein’s nuclear bombmaker – along with the Emir of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), had been awarded a 35-year lease for cargo container operations at Port Canaveral, Florida after two years of secret talks with the Obama administration. Russia’s Trojan Horse Club-K “Missiles in a Box” system, perplexingly, bears a striking resemblance to the Pentagon’s now-canceled NLOS-LS.

The Pentagon designated its revolutionary “Missiles in a Box” weapon the XM501 Non-Line-of-Sight Launch System (NLOS-LS).

Ash Carter’s cancellation of America’s NLOS-LS, in conjunction with the arrival of Russia’s Club-K, brought about a calamitous shift in the military balance of power that weakened the United States and empowered Russia.

Gulftainer is the Iraqi Jafar family’s UAE-based ports company that is tightly connected to Russia and Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapons programs.

In 2014 the Obama administration awarded Gulftainer a 35-year lease to Florida’s Port Canaveral cargo container terminal in a secret deal code-named “Project Pelican.”

The Obama administration placed Aimen Nabi Mir, former two-time president of the youth wing of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), into the top advisory position to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), a national security post at the Treasury Department.

Aimen Mir was the CFIUS Staff Chairperson from 2009 until 2014. During that time, Aimen Mir played a key role in the CFIUS panel’s decision to approve the sale of Uranium One to Russia’s Rosatom.
