Incoming surge of murders, od's, and car crashes. The effort of obtaining hard drugs has been minimized so those curious about drugs will try them when they would not of due to societal pressure. It is a big mix of soft liberals, homeless people, kids, criminals, and hard drugs all shook up in a shake and bake recipe for disaster.

The west coast is in its death throws.

Ppl should be able to ingest WHATEVER they choose to. If some asshole junkie od's oh well. You want 5o spend your life shooting heroin and smoking crack? Have at it. There should be designated areas for ppl to do su h things, oy on the condition of, if you od NO RESUSCITATION. All this bullshit if putting ppl in jail for getting high is the dumbest shit ever, this USED to be a free country where you could do whatever you wanted (to your own body atleast) as long as you didn't harm anyone else or encroach on their freedoms you were allowed to do whatever you wanted even if it's stupid and dangerous.

And so we set broken glass on the path of our children saying if they step upon it, it is their fault for not choosing to tread more carefully. Yet we knowingly put them in harms way. There is nothing good to come of using any drug recreationally that can kill the user.

Has every Child Protective Services caseworker quit in disqust yet .. they will.

Every idiot in OR should get sterilised so they can't ruin the lives of innocent children.

I used to think decriminialising drugs was the way to go. That is, until I spent a little time talking to a CPS caseworker. I really got my eyes opened. Really, really sad to hear the stories of children with druggie moms and dads. Just made me sick.

This is the new America, eh.

I don't think I'll be a fan.

Re: Oregon decriminalized all drugs last night.
failing the children? oh come on people.

There are 2 possibilities here. Just 2. No grey area. Black and White.

Possibility 1: People don't have free will. They are controlled by their environment .. always. If there is a unregistered gun just laying on the ground, it will force the first passerby to pick it up and use it immediately.

Possibility 2: People do have full control over themselves and it will always be their free will that determines their path through life. The external environment does not corrupt. Corruption is through deliberate self choices and nothing else.

So what is it people? Do we have free will and are in control of our own destinies?

Or does the external world control us instead?

SO you are saying that people really can't control themselves and it is the external worlds that determines actions.

Hmmm, I wonder, how do we correct this?

What about people that can't handle and moderate their calorie/sugar/harmful food intake? Should we lock them up as well? Their cost on society is just as great or greater than the druggies.

Hmmm, through medicare and medicaid I would bet the people with poor eating habits rob far more of my money than the druggies will ever be able to. I would even put a factor of 10 or greater on the amount of my taxes that are used for disabilities and medical care for people with no self control in their eating habits.

Yep. There was absolutely no demand for it before here in the states so the cartels never gained a foothold. I mean before, those cartels had to come into the states and force people to ingest their drugs at gun point. .... Now, everything has changed ...

really, that is your story and you are sticking with it?

I am choosing. This is one of the biggest issues that will face us in determining our future path to freedom or slavery. It is all related and frankly, pretty simple.

Either, do we have free will or don't we?

Do we have the internal strength to overcome this reality or does this reality corrupt regardless of the person?

You may try and reframe the argument to bits and pieces ... grey areas ... but in the end it all boils down to free will.

Do drugs determine the person or does the person determine the person?

Because if the environment determines the person and how they will act, we are screwed. not savable. irredeemable. lost.

if the environment determines all. there is nothing there to save. no free will. no soul. then it doesn't really matter at all.

DECRIMINALIZED DOES NOT MEAN LEGALIZED
 Quoting: Rorschach Watchmen

I was speaking to a person several years ago who said that narco gangs and a lot of corruption and crime associated with hard drugs in Mexico wouldn't be as bad if drugs were de-criminalized. LOL.

That was not any better than someone assuming that crimes involving guns would be way lower if firearms had to be registered and increasingly restricted.

By the way, handguns are way more restricted/controlled in Mexico, yet the last time I checked their crime rates were, uh, a bit high.

All of this is sort of like assuming that the honor system will be totally respected when a company gives its employees free office supplies and free lunches. Before you know it, no stationary is left in the storage room and millions of lunches are squirreled away and taken home for sis, granny, the girlfriend, the sitter, the grandkids, etc.
