Oregon is now lost, was for awhile, but this takes it over the edge. Portland residents, prepare for an influx of drug addicted homeless. This is insane to me, meth? Heroin?

I feel like I woke up in another country today, I’m so disappointed with this shit.

West coast is lost, Washington (my state) sure to follow next elections. Might be time to sell the house, transfer facilities up to Alaska and say goodbye to the lower 48. Not sure if I want my soon to be graduated daughter starting her adult life in this morally corrupt region.

Mental illness is EVERYWHERE here.

I have no business in Oregon anymore, all my work is done in Washington now. I no longer have any reason to cross the bridge and venture into new Juarez.

Decriminalizing is not legalizing.

People who are caught with hard drugs have the choice to pay a fine or go to treatment. Not jail for possession.

Meth possession legalized now!?!?

I definitely agree, but not the type of mental illness that roams the Portland streets man.

Portland was already on a steep slope this entire year. I can’t imagine the typical heroin/meth addict is going to go seek treatment when they are getting free food/money/lodging in some instances.

Portland’s barely surviving small businesses downtown are about to be destroyed by this. The beginning of the end for Portland.

It's literally in the second sentence below the headline.

Instead of going to trial and facing possible jail time, a person would have the option of paying a $100 fine or attending new 'addiction recovery centers'.

Prosecution from the same DA’s that we’re allowing arsonists, vandals, rioters and provocateurs to get off Scott free.

Sorry but I do not believe there are any consequences. And we are talking about what used to be felonies, now just a 100 dollar fine or treatment?

What happens when the treatment centers are overcrowded?

They have not prepared for this, not surprising considering who is in charge in this state.

So junkies can lay all over Portland now homeless shooting up heroin and snorting up meth without a care in the world

And it’s going to be a magnet for other homeless junkies to go there by the tens of thousands

This will keep addicts out of jail and in treatment where they belong.

I think it is a win-win.
