Besides, depending on what happens, love can be very doomfilled. Especially if you have an alien and an earthling who fall in love but their planets hate eachother. DOOM!!!

I beg to differ,Infatuation is a concentration of energy to aspects of a person,Its a pulling attraction to aspects.Fragmented and not "whole".

Love is "Whole".Is knowing...With all your being,Knowing.

Although infatuation can lead to love...Perhaps its soul recognition of a true connection,of what love can become between individuals,Though you should know the difference.

I think "infatuation" is a term people use when they want to denigrate others' feelings. I was madly in love when I was 13. she was 12 and our "affair" lasted for three months. Was it infatuation?? Perhaps, but I didn't think so at the time.

I'd hesitate to try to differentiate between them.

On another matter, the "1856" Musical is going to be put on again in Summer 2008, with our first week's stand in SLC. You WILL be attending the play and getting together with my wife (who will also be there) and I to drink some coffee or whatever we can get away with and still keep the T.R.

Love is when you still want to be with the person on their worst day, despite knowing all of their flaws.

Infatuation is more a physical attraction.

Love is usually more non-physical (compassion empathy).

But a lot of people use the word "love" to indicate physical attraction (sexual feelings).


"Love thy neighbor as thyself." has nothing to do with sexual attraction. (Unless you're surrounded by beautiful members of the opposite sex and like to masturbate...)

Very simple question: infatuation is when two human species on a planet called Earth have a relationship..and "love" is when a person takes spiritual responsibility to live his/her life in complete seclusion while suffering extreme unbearable emotional trauma with the universe.

Having experienced the "void" I can assure you there is no pleasure in finding love on this planet. There is simply deep nothingness...It is an inconsolable space & unpredictable place. Like a child looking at the night sky insilent awe and wonder at his place amidst the cosmos.

Losing God/faith/self/meaning/certainty/mortality etc.

that's why infatuation wears off rather quickly, and love deepens. people usually grow out of 'doing' infatuations as they get older and experience love.

~maybe if you're a lusty person, it's not just for short whiles, but sometimes for the long ones too. more something you bring with you to whatever life is at the time...

About 3 wks ago my gf left me for her ex who she has been with for 3 yrs.

I thought I was in love, but often wondered the same thing if it was just infatuation.

I think that possible infatuation caused me to ultimately lose my job because I was so obsessed that every email I heard come through I was like "is it her!!!!!" and all day I was just emailing her and thinking about her. So maybe that was infatuation. I don't know.

I think you can't really tell until a certain amount of time has passed.

As the saying goes... time will tell.
