Assuming we choose to become ghosts by failing to escape the grid, what do we do for what is essentially a very long time?

Can we create our own realities and immerse ourselves in them in the ghost state?

Tom Campbell, another OOBE researcher and physicist writes in his book, My Big TOE: You can project your sentience into any of these states and simply look around. Or you can follow a sequence of connected states that produces an effect that is like following a movie frame by frame. Run the frames by fast enough and the action seems realistic — an experience — exactly like being there. Because all possible choices are available, you can theoretically make the story line run any way you want to, but it is much more useful to follow variations of your personal choices and let all the other virtual players make only their most probable moves given the new conditions. By carefully using your focused intent, you can design and create almost any query-filter you can imagine, apply it to this database, and experience the results. The experienced end product is exactly like being there.

Imagine a 3D holographic movie where you control the conditions or filter-sets that define the possibilities and probabilities of the action. Lack of specificity adds random or nominal components to the filter definitions intended. If you do not know enough to define and control the process precisely, the results appear to be jumbled and have a mind of their own. In any case, your experience of this data (filtered by your clear or jumbled intent) appears as if you are viewing, and participating in, a reality populated by fully sentient beings with free will. That it is a simulation — a calculation space populated only by probability models of actual beings with free will — would be transparent and thus unnoticeable. Simulated or emulated digital consciousness does not seem artificial to an individuated digital consciousness with free will.
