Here we are days befor Thanksgving and it's like springtime. It's pretty fall weather.

We do not have droughts here. There is woodlands and meadows and hills.

It was 73 today in Denver. Colorado has the best weather with no natural disasters.

What is your growing season like as we are facing a mini Ice Age like what happened in history where the harvests were ruined.

It started in 1303 AD and it ruined harvest as suddenly the normal growing seasons were shortened.

KY has three growing seasons as it is subtropical. Worse come to worse, you would have two growing season and still manage just fine especially with cloches.

Except for all the poisonous air from all the fracking wells, yeah it’s pretty nice.

Before you move anywhere know the groundwater situation, drought history, soil erosion, suitability for livestock and fodder, etc.

Test the soil and wells.

Visit the churches and area for 14 days. Are people hospitable and invite you to supper?

Don't move to some placee where you stick out. Some places are great like Maine sure can be, but the Mainers are insular and so are Eastern Kentuckians. You would have to live there 200 years before your family was accepted. That ain't great with civil unrest.

Re: Planning on bugging out in Mexico this winter
Outsiders think redneck equates to bigots. That is bullcrap. Kentuckians sheltered runaway slaves even when they were sometime Confederates during the Civil War. The entire city of Hopkinsville sheltered runaway slaves.

I personally know urban blacks from Louisville who were lost and were freaking out, and knocked on redneck farmhouses and one got in his truck and drove and had them follow until they got to their destination. The other invited them into to eat dinner as it was supper time, then helped them find their way.

Rednecks are invariably Christians.

I'm sorry, you seem like a nice lady, but that's about the stupidest thing I've ever, ever read on GLP. You do know the murder rate in Mexico is literally more than some countries at war?

Also, I used to live on the border, and I can tell you it's like the wild, wild west. I can also tell you from personal experience, overall, the majority of people just plain don't like gringos (white people).

I understand you have a really, super retarded president there, who wants to let the Chinese in, so I don't blame you for leaving, but you're literally talking about going from the pot to the frying pan here.

Re: Planning on bugging out in Mexico this winter
I’m a Canadian (from Ontario) and it’s getting stupid here. My
Husband and I have decided to pack up our kids and head to Mexico for the winter, maybe longer who knows.

Good idea, bad idea? We go every winter and have spoken with people there, they say it’s pretty chill. Heading to an house in Jalisco / Nayarit area.

Any Mexicans have an opinion?

That is a really bad idea, especially with kids!

Mexico is a failed nation.

The drug cartels shoot, stab, burn, bludgeon, eviscerate, decapitate, dismember, rape, and torture thousands of people a year

you would have to be absolutely out of your gourd to take your family there

stay put in canada

Trumps gonna topple Trudeau soon, he is almost done with the DNC, hold on

I’m not Mexican but my family moved here a year ago because we knew something was coming to the USA . So far it’s been nice , very livable around the playa del Carmen area , but we are moving to San Miguel for a bigger self sufficient property .
