Does an Animal Feel Pain?

Absolutely an animal feels pain.

They experience fear also.

There will be a ceremony where we will hunt for meat.

G-d will be there watching us inflicting these things upon the animal.

Pain is a survival mechanism, I think most all living things feel pain in some way. They have to to react to threats.

As others mentioned, animals capable of conscious thought feel fear too. Another survival mechanism associated with pain. Have to feel fear to preserve your own well being and not do dumbass things.

The difference is thresholds. I have much higher threshold for fear and pain than what others may have or what I had before I went through some extremely harsh situations.

Animals threshold for pain and fear depend on how they live. Lions cope with fear of death every time they need food and go hunt. They deal with risk of death on a daily basis. Their fear threshold is way higher than an average human outside of possibly those who have gone to war. But not even going to war equates to lions who have to risk death to get every meal.

Well now what if we find out plants have more feelings than we do and cutting them is as bad as removing your neck?

Should we starve?

Does the lion or shark consider such things?

I stopped eating dead animals in March, we are made to eat plants, hence the reason why we can pick off a fruit or vegetable and it grows back.

Animals feel pain but they don't react to it like a human does.

Animals are similar to us. They can' t speak, though, as they miss some corresponding body parts, but their intelligence would allow to communicate with us at low Level, If they could speak. They feel like us and some animals even have self-consciousness. Animals are genetically at least 95% identical to humans, apes even 99%.

I will tell you a story that happened

My dads friend ...A ww2 vet...used to kill rabbits to eat...

Well the last time he shot,and nicked the rabbit,where it was in pain...

The rabbit instead of running away...Came hopping towards Jack the ww2 vet in screaming pain,for him to help....

After that he never shot anything again....

And he was a war vet...And that did it for him....

So yes...Animals feel Pain..maybe not as much,but if your going to kill...KILL FAST AND QUICK...

My dad was going to a bows man got a professional BOW...

He just wanted to do it for fun ...this was in the early 80s ..

But they wanted him to go kill a deer,and the purpose is to shoot a deer,and let it run,as the arrows TEARS ITS INSIDES APART AND THEY BLEED OUT...

As He learnt that ...He Quickly sold the Bow,and never thought about it again...

People that Bow hunt are Animals themselves,If they dont hit the Brain first HIT....

they feel pain like humans do
evolved and smart animals, fish and birds like cats, dogs, parrots, monkeys and dolphins can even reason like human children
they just do not speak the way humans do

of-course we all should stop slaughtering and even imprisoning animals, fish and birds that do not severely harm us

even if the slaughtering was in "humanly as possible" methods
do you like someone to slaughter you while you was a child "humanly as possible"?

also it is not only about the pain, it is also about "the rights"
you simply do not have the rights to deliver any kind harm to creature who did not harm you by any mean
killing others is harming others even if it as painlessly

even if religion believers tell you that there are some creature that they name "god" has crated this world and with it all it's animals and he is allowing you to pray on creatures that feel pain and did not harm anyone
because even if their monster god exist and even if he was the creator of this world and it's animals
he do not have the right to harm a creature who feel pain and who harm no one just because he crated him

a human is only allowed to kill creatures that feel pain if they severely unjustly harmed him, like dogs that bark loudly a lot and make his life like hell or like pests that invade his property and steal his food

there are a big different between creatures that have Central Nervous System evolved enough to make them feel physical and Psychological pain and creatures that do not have Central Nervous System evolved enough to feel physical and Psychological pain

there are also a big different between carnivorous predatory creatures that Prey on other creatures that feel pain like lions and peaceful, non-harmful, Not predatory, and Non-carnivorous creatures like sheep
because it it not so immoral that human kill carnivorous predatory creatures even if they did not unjustly and severely threatened or harmed him

human can be treated like carnivorous predatory creatures
like human scammers and thugs that prey on other humans and take their money by scamming them or by force because they are weak, idiots, ignorant or stupid are counted as carnivorous predatory creatures

Of course the do. That doesn’t mean you can’t eat them, but being aware that they feel pain makes a hunter more concerned of being precise to kill without unnecessary pain.

The Bushmen from the Kalahari desert have been depicted as hunters that use a plant based drug to douse the pain of their prey. I don’t know if this is fact or just a movie myth, but it sounds like something someone aware of the chain of energy that sustains life would do.
