Where I live, almost no business cares, but stillI am one of the only ones left who doesn't wear one. The customers all look at me like I just stepped off a most wanted poster, but noone has said anything to me. However, I will never again patronize the local liquor store. Clerk had mask around his neck, i had my tshirt pulled up. He tried to sellme a mask, saying my tshirt wasn't sufficient. Also a thrift store owner who also had no mask on while I was browsing outside. I poked my head in to look at a shelf and he said sir you need to have a mask on, so me and my money walked away.

I started doing the same on Friday,no one is enforcing it. I just stopped.

only go to my local grocery store where no masks needed....

Any store that refuses entry without one does not get my business. I don't play that game.

Around us the only store folks really feel compelled to wear them is Costco, and that's ashamed but I think we're saving money when I don't go, because I tend to be a sneaky shopper and can squirrel stuff away in a shopping cart that my wife doesn't see until it goes across the register. I could be called and impulse shopper.

Government (UK) tells us we need to put rules in place and ask everyone to wear a mask, sanitise and social distance & limit numbers

We don’t like it - we don’t want to do it - but if we don’t we are liable to be fined! - yes it’s our responsibility to look after the people and people who don’t wear masks put our business in jeopardy- in relations to fines and also for making other customers feel uncomfortable

We have to shut our shop due to lockdown besides bending over backwards to follow the regulations (we are not an essential shop) - and dispute this people can go to a big food superstore and buy similar stuff as to what we could be selling if we were allowed to be open

So boycotting for having to wear a mask? It’s not the shop owners fault - so why kick them (particulary the independent stores) in the balls when this whole situation could put them out of business. now online business brings more of a threat to the highstreet

same here - once in a while I'll visit a small local owned family business - with a bandana not a mask - the owner had his down for a few just to breathe - the shit these people put up with in order to stay open is insane

This morning, after reading your headline, I realized I walked into a restaurant for take-out yesterday without a mask on. Now I remember everyone behind the counter was wearing a mask. There were about 5 employees including the manager. No one said a thing to me.

Honestly, I just never knew the magic of grocery pick up from Walmart until this year. I have 2 kids. Grocery shopping kinda sucks. There's no way they're both wearing masks, plus me, and walking around for 3 hours.
Also, I have been under budget at least $100 every time because I see the running totals.

I order online rather than go out.. where i live its easier because of the traffic & hard to find parking spaces, etc. plus i cannot stand in a long line and so delivery helps.

Same in southern Oregon. The closest other store is 26 miles away and masks are required there too. No mask No sale sign at the checkout stand. They don't care about medical exemptions either.

I live in a small town in Scotland. The mask nazis are everywhere, they stand at the doors of the supermarkets behind their barricades. They "encourage" you to wear masks. The occasional overinflated shelf stacker might actually bark commands at you, but they soon back down when presented with anyone who stands up for themselves. There is NO LAW which decrees you must wear a mask, it is ALL VOLOUNTARY. I ask them if they intend to stop me from entering without a mask . . . and they always back down. I have not worn a mask once since this bogus shitshow started.

Remember your rights NO-ONE can force you to do anything that may be harmful to your health. Tell them you will consider wearing a mask on production of the government risk assessment . . . . they cant produce that, it was NEVER DONE. Re-enforce the fact that it is UP TO YOU not them. It is YOUR decision.

These shops were very quick to introduce their absurd 3 ft long one way systems, automatic barricades, cattle pens, floor arrows and Perspex shields at the tills.
At the time, 8 months ago, I said it all looked more than a little permanent . . .
You can tell which shops are fully paid up members of the MWO just by looking at how they EMBRACED this situation with unsupressed glee, while the independent small shop owners all got forced to close and face bankruptcy.

Bingo, same here, haven't worn a mask once since it was made 'mandatory' here 4 months ago. So far i've only been asked to leave 1 place. (I know which places to avoid)

1) the shops are told by the government what rules need to be in place
2) if the shops do not follow the rules they get fined by the government
3) if the shops do not follow the rules they could be shut down
4) if an unannounced inspection by local officials occurs - and you the non mask wearer is present the shop will be fined.
5) if you the non mask wearer is in the shop and police walk past you will be fined.
6) shop owner do not want to have these rules - they do not want to social distance - they do not want to one way system - all of these rules damage the business
7) you not wearing the mask will intimidate the sheep customers - the sheep customers keep the business open. You come in acting the big I am and other leave - resulting in loss of business - well fuck you!
8) refuse to wear a mask? Covid or no covid you are a selfish inconsiderate of others twat.

I have yet to be stopped or refused entrance because of not wearing a mask. Except for the dentist and a doctors appt.

Yeah, same here. I have yet to have anyone say shit to me about not wearing one. Maybe I just look crazy and people don't want to confront me. I dunno. I get dirty looks sometimes, but these days it's hard to tell if they have a mask on.
