Interesting OP.
I have had this problem with my ear for over a year now.
I've been putting drops of Oil of Oregano into my ear. It helps for about 3-4 days but then the itch comes back. Normally during the day I don't notice it but at night time when I go to bed and relax and unwind it becomes unbearable sometimes.
I may try your solution.
