I stopped watching this stupid video when it said that US debt of $23 trillion is unpayable.

US GDP is $22 trillion which means dept-GDP ratio is only 100 percent.

US is not even in top ten countries in terms of debt to gdp ratio and there are 40 countries whose ratio exceeds 70 percent.

US debt to GDP ratio has been stable for decades which indicates that it is retired/repaid regularly. If US had a debt problem, then this ratio would have increased sharply over the years.

Gullible people get fooled by huge numbers in trillions as they don't realize that GDP and tax revenues are also increasing by same proportion as debt.

Only those who don't understand finance get alarmed by sovereign debt. The only debt to be concerned about is external debt which can get tricky if your exports fall drastically leading to currency account deficit.

uhhh...try again dude. The current US national debt is $27 trillion. In 2000, it was $5 trillion. That's more than 5x in 20 years. In 2000, GDP was $13 trillion and now it is like $20 trillion, so that's not even 2x in 20 years. Debt to GDP ratio has not been close to stable.

And on your list, there are only 10 countries in the entire world with higher debt to GDP ratio than the U.S. and they are all either third world countries or countries that have basically collapsed and stagnated for the last 10-30 years.

We are in the worst debt position in the history of the world. There is no arguing that and it is not a good thing.
