Unlike the other "shit coins" Theta actually has substance and real world value. With this coin you are actually investing in something that's solving a huge problem, and that's the increased need for data delivery. Here's a video from Everything Theta. His channel is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to explaining the ins and outs of the theta network and who they are partnering up with. Here's hes going to show how to set up the edge node so you can make extra income on the spare upload portion of your bandwidth. Since this videos release they now have Edge Compute that's been incorporated into Edge Node so you can also make extra income with your CPU and GPU. |

This is a great listen for anyone interested in Theta. I currently have my Theta staked with Gpool to earn extra Tfuel (it comes in every 12 mins). For the time being, they are allowing stakes to their Guardian Node free of charge. When staking Theta, the Theta never leaves you wallet, it just gets locked up while you are staked. All you need to do is download the Edge Node from Thetatoken.org and let it run. I let mine run 24/7 but I have some pretty crappy upload and download speeds being really remote so I don't make much earnings that way. Now that they have introduced Edge Compute I make much more with that letting the network use my computing power. I'm able to set it to "light" during the day and then to a higher level at night while I sleep. I also have enough Theta to have it staked to a guardian node. Currently it's a 10K minimum to be able to stake but they are going to be reducing this to 1K very soon. You can also go to [link to www.theta.tv (secure)] (formally known as SLIVER.TV) and start watching and sharing your bandwidth there. Note that currently sharing bandwidth at Theta TV will earn you rewards but as of now Theta TV rewards are locked inside of Theta TV and you can only redeem those TFuel at the Theta TV store, but they have announced in the future you'll be able to withdraw those coins to your private wallet so you can choose to hold or to send to an exchange for trading. Once it gets listed on Coinbase the price is going to explode. Right now you can currently buy it on Binance (the Mega Chinese exchange) if you have an old grandfathered in account. Newer Binance accounts do not allow USA account holders to purchase Theta or Tfuel. The Binance account I created in 2017 did allow me to purchase. There is another way though and I can vouch for it as I have used it several times and thats with a site called Simpleswap.io What you do is you buy BTC or ETH, whatever you have access to (they pretty much will swap anything) and you use that to swap for Theta or Tfuel. You'll need to go to Thetatoken.org first and set up your wallet so you can receive the tokens from simpleswap. You can have the Theta web wallet or you can set it up with your Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet. Which is really nice, I have a ledger and love it. (cold storage FTW) Back in June or July Coinbase had announced Theta was on their "to get listed list" so it can happen anytime. Once it does most are thinking the price will double or triple overnight. So kudos to all of you that are going to grab this before that happens :) Here's a video on how to use SimpleSwap's mobile app, they have a Website as well for PC. Right now though Gpool is allowing anyone to stake to their node free of charge so I am taking advantage of that while I can. Later on once smart contracts are released on the network they have said they might charge a small fee to continue the service but its still a win for those who have crappy internet service. |
