Can We Protect our Drinking Water in an Age of Terror?
This year close to one million Americans will get sick from something in their water; about 1,000 of those ultimately result in fatalities, according the Center for Disease Control. These are the figures, without a terror intervention, how much more damage and death when there is a concerted effort to harm and kill people?

Water is vulnerable and not hard to contaminate. This last summer in North Carolina, 75,000 of our soldiers and their families were poisoned by drinking contaminated water on a military base using PCE, a dry cleaning agent readily available to anyone. This was not a terror attack, but why couldn't a terrorist duplicate this failure in our systems to harm Americans all over the country? The answer is, they could!

In his 2002 State of the Union Address, President Bush noted that captured Al Qaeda documents included detailed maps of several U.S. municipal public drinking water systems.

Apprehension regarding a terrorist assault on drinking water systems has also been reinforced by news reports and arrests of suspects charged with threatening to contaminate municipal water supplies in the U.S.

No matter how minor the contamination event or short-term the disruption to the delivery of safe drinking water, the psychological, medical and potential public health impact on the U.S. population could be significant.

not sure if you are meaning to be funny here, but that threat could very well exist with the introduction of ecoli or salmonella into the processing system not unlike the Banquet Pot Pie poisoning recently.

More people should be paying attention to this! Most water treatment facilities are protected with little more than a padlock.
"You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.

“The war we fight today is more than a military conflict,” Mr Bush said. “It is the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century.”

You are a slave..., like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind."

The truth is any country can unleash biological weapons that contaminate water reservoirs and animal livestock. It would naive to think many businessmen and states haven't invested significant resources into projects like this. Maybe weapons like this - engineered yeast and bacteria - are even influencing the world's climate.

If anyone ever develops something like flying saucers invisible to radar that can easily evade jet fighters and missiles how would these vehicles be used? Would they be used to covertly compromise the water and food of competing states?

If some dumb ass kid can do this more than once, someone more sinister can do this with poisons, not urine.

Been sayin this for years, you laughed then, you're probably laughing now. dumbass.
