Iran says weapon used to kill top nuclear scientist was ‘made in Israel’

Ali Shamkhani, a member of Iran’s national security council, said the attack was “carried out using electronic devices”. He was speaking at a funeral service for Fakhrizadeh that took place outdoors at Iran's defence ministry in Tehran on Monday.

“No individual was present at the site” of the killing said Mr Shamkhani, according to Iran‘s state-controlled English-language Press TV. He also blamed an Iranian exile group, Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, of "having a role” in the incident but did not elaborate on the claim.

DT, it would be a violation of Standard Operating Procedure for the weapon to be Israeli unless they wanted to send a message that it was THEM that performed the deed.

More likely another local actor with a beef against the Iranians. Iran is a greater threat to their Arab neighbors than Israel. For enough cash, the Saudis or whoever could have hired an independent contractor to do this hit.

If I had been tasked with such a job, I would have used Russian or European weapons and equipment to do it.

BTW, I have learned to NEVER trust what Iran says.

I have a friend who lived in Iran, spoke fluent Farsi, and was also a reserve US Navy Captain with intel training.

Iran said distributing pictures of 4 suspects in killing of nuclear chief

A London-based Iranian journalist claimed late Sunday that Iran has distributed pictures of four suspects in the killing of top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. The claim, tweeted by Mohamed Ahwaze, also known as M Majed, was quickly picked up by nope media, and was the lead item on the websites of Israel’s two main TV channels in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to the report, Iranian intelligence agents were distributing the photos of the men at hotels across the country and asking hotel owners to immediately inform them if they had seen them.

Tehran, Nov 30, IRNA - Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said on Monday that intelligence and security forces have started identifying the ostentatious terrorist elements behind the assassination of Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh and have gained many clues.

In an interview about the latest developments in the assassination of Fakhrizadeh, Alavi said that after the assassination of martyr Fakhrizadeh, security forces immediately did their best and started their work and gained a lot of clues and are still pursuing the case with all aspects.

Report: Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Killed in Syria

According to reports in Syria’s pro-rebel Step News Agency, the senior official, apparently a logistic officer in the IRGC’s elite Quds Force, was killed when a drone fired a missile at the car he was driving. Along with the official, two other Iranians who were in the car with him at the time were also killed in the strike.

None of the reports mentioned who was operating the drone that took out the IRGC official, a sign the attack could have been carried out by members of U.S. coalition forces in the country. U.S. coalition members have carried out aerial attacks on pro-Iranian fighters in the Syrian-Iraqi border area in the past.

According to Syrian news reports, jets believed to belong to U.S. coalition forces carried out strikes on 10 targets near the border town of Al-Bukamal, killing several pro-Iranian militia members and destroying ammunition depots and equipment.

The Imam Ali military base is situated near Abu Kamal. The base, built by members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps over the last two years, allows Iran to transfer arms and equipment from Iraq to Syria.
