Could be "set up" by Trump's enemies. Maybe the "cash for pardons" scheme. His enemies set up a scheme for payment if Assange gets a pardon, it's found out and now being investigated so net result is Trump's hands are now tied and he can't pardon Assange without appearing guilty as charged!
