I appreciate the title "The Day GLASS rained upon the Earth"
as it is a topic on which I have done at least 20+ years of research.
I have read about some glass beads being part of melted meteors/comets...but you
may also want to understand, OP, that new information coming out just in the
last 24 months is changing the focus of looking for these glass beads
from meteors and comets turning to the source: our sun and Galactic Center.

This artifact from King Tut's Tomb is said to have been
from a "meteorite" found in the Sahara Desert near Egypt
in the reign of King Tut or his father Akhenaten. However,
new reearch may now reveal the "Khepra Beetle Goddess"
at the center of the artifact is ACTUALLY SOLAR MICRO-NOVA
GLASS some 12,000 years old! There have actually been several
videos--such as from National Geographic--with this "older
version" of the Beetle carving you can find on YouTube.
However...since December 2018 THAT "TAKE" on the green
glass has changed!


Carved "glass or stone" Beetle Goddess,
Khepra is found at the center of this rare
artifact found in King Tut's Tomb. Originally
suggested to be from a "melted comet or meteor"
it is now being suggested it is a larger "glass
bead" from the last Solar Micro-Nova. Dr. Vogt
personally confirmed (in the discussion thread

this very well may have been a solar glass bead!

What the scientists you are referring to with your
"meteorite impact" may be confusing...is that it would be
impossible to separate the "glass" found in the various
deserts left from meteors with those glass beads all over
