Postal Inspectors
There are approximately 1,200 postal inspectors stationed throughout the United States and abroad who enforce more than 200 federal laws covering investigations of crimes that adversely affect or fraudulently use the U.S. Mail and postal system.
So, these pukes get paid over a hundred grand a year and NOT ONE OF THEM is working on voter fraud thru the mail. Fire them ALL.....right now.

Re: Postal Inspectors
Good point and really what do they do? Aren't they armed also and for what?
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.

If the more I know, the more I know I don’t know, then do I truly know what I know because I know I don’t?

You cannot reach a correct conclusion if you begin with an incorrect assumption

Firstly: you don't know what the FUCK you're talking about.

I'm a retired USPS Supervisor who worked closely with several USPSIS agents during my career, particularly during the final four years when I was a HazMat Specialist and my job fell directly under their purview.

Here's what YOU don't know about them:

1. The USPSIS [the United States Postal Service Inspection Service] are the OLDEST law-enforcement agency in the United States and they are held in the highest regard by other federal officers. IF there is any such thing as genuine "Untouchables" it is them!

2. They train at Quantico right next to other federal agents, but receive highly-specialized instruction those other agents can't -and don't- want to even try. And even basic eligibility requirements for the USPSIS are far more restrictive than other federal Law-enforcement agencies. You'd better have a 4.0 GPA and a couple of degrees before you start to fill out that application or you won't be given the time of day.

3. Postal Inspectors have a much HIGHER conviction rate than the FBI because they cross every "T" and dot every "I" and leave NOTHING to error. One way they do this is by NEVER divulging on-going investigations, but they are such an insular group that they take it to even greater extremes than other federal agencies.

4. Postal Inspectors are the ONLY US federal agents that have GLOBAL JURISDICTION. The FBI can't go into a foreign nation and arrest a criminal, but Postal inspectors CAN because their authority extends wherever US Mail is delivered. They are granted this authority through the International Postal Union, which is like the UN of post offices around the world... only with TEETH that aren't afraid to BITE!

5. They investigate a far wider range of crimes than a stupid carrier ripping off a stack of mail. Mailbox bombings are far more common than you may think, and corporate mail fraud is even more rampant than credit card theft. Currently, they are no doubt busy investigating reports that ballots were printed in China and used in US elections... it's THEIR jurisdiction because -at some point- those ballots had to pass through the international/domestic mail streams. The FBI and Federal Marshals may assist, but it'll be a USPSIS case. But don't be surprised if you never hear of their involvement... because that's the way they want it!

It will also be they who investigate the back-dating of ballots which is a far more serious crime than most people realize due to the oath all USPS employees swear.

Whereas the federal oath of allegiance always includes "to preserve protect and defend the U.S. Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic", the postal version also includes the words "and the sanctity of the US mail" right after the U.S. Constitution is mentioned. That technically makes it a treasonous offense to backdate those ballots. As we're all going to learn in the next several weeks, treason can take MANY forms!

As I said above, I've worked directly with some of those agents and they are without a doubt the most honest and feared of all badge-carrying feds... because unlike the Canadian Mountie myth, they always DO "get their man" and if they come after you, you WILL get caught. And I can guarantee that when they are known to be in a postal facility, every single employee is scared to death -whether they're guilty of something or not- because they know something serious is going down. And those agents are given a very wide berth wherever they walk.

The only time you'll hear about their cases is when THEY want you to know. Unlike the FBI who NEEDS publicity to maintain their shabby reputation, the Postal Inspectors don't play those games.

I once assisted them in a sting operation involving a letter carrier who was stealing mail. Only FIVE of us knew that operation was happening: two Inspectors, the Postmaster, my Station Manager and myself. I was the "point man" who kept a constant eye on the guy whenever he was in our station. The day he was arrested that carrier waltzed out of the building carrying a stack of DVD's to add to the credit cards he'd already stashed in his personal car. Since they had to wait until he was off postal property to nail him, they tailed him onto the interstate and pulled him over there before slapping on the cuffs. In his glove compartment they found a loaded .357 which upped the ante considerably when formal charges were made. And NOBODY else in that facility -let alone the public- ever knew all of this happened! There were no announcements on the workroom floor, no press, NADA. When he didn't show up for work, the rest of the employees just figured he suddenly quit. It was several months before the story was finally revealed [not from me, but the Station Manager]. And, I can relate many stories just like this one.

NOW: about those 1200 Postal Inspectors. By comparison the FBI has 15,000 special agents who only have to worry about the continental United States. As I mentioned above those postal inspectors cover the entire world. A BIG-assed difference! And they enforce far more than just "200" postal laws, especially since international cyber-crimes have become so prevalent.

One female Postal Inspector I chatted with revealed her office was so understaffed they all had stacks of active case files on their desks over a foot high... and that was several years ago. Rest assured that today that stack isn't any smaller!

So, you may wish to cut those men and women some serious SLACK! Because if you are ever the victim of identity theft from stolen mail [for over a decade now the fastest growing domestic crime in the world] it will be THEM who investigate that case.
