'Good morning everyone. hi

'Having my morning coffee, aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, anti-inflammatory, a dose of RSO, and a bowl of weed so I can manage another walk to the kitchen to make breaky of some sort.

I've still artisan rye and swirl rye bread and the two Italian sausage I cooked yesterday, a sammich possibility; I've the chicken and bacon cooked yesterday to make a bacon, chicken, Caesar salad [hhmm, I might need to first boil an egg for that]; or I could just open the freezer and make a dinner that is breakfast, perhaps shrimp or chicken egg rolls?

I need to let the coffee and meds work and decide upon something to fix. Hunger is not usually an issue for me, most often eating because I'm aware it has been eighteen to twenty-four hours since my last meal and figure I need to keep my brain and body fueled.

hi

Free fishing weekend just ended today.

Took my 8 year old grandson out to a local lake in the canoe with electric trolling.

He caught his first trout all on his own. I kept hooking up, but couldn't land one, spent most of my time instructing him.

So all I caught was a good ole' sun burn.....

HOT

lol.....he had so much sun screen on..... He didn't burn at all, but got sun screen in his eye..... Other than that, we had a great time.

This was my first all day outing with him alone.

We are going to really need to work on his listening and observation skills!

Since there are a few here...what does a blood sugar imbalance feel like? Prior to Tim going off to Liturgy we were discussing my mishap. Maybe my blood sugar went all wonky?

The 4th time I just got disconnected with my feet...chipped 2 teeth, bloody nose, palms and elbows...He had to drag me 4' off to the grass before going to fetch dinner...lol...I then got really tired and went to sleep. LOL...we walked back home hand in hand and no one cared. Everyone needs a Tim. But ya, kind of looks like I fell down a cliff at present. Wrote Matsutake woman to see if she recalls a similar episode. I know I went through that with Di. Hesitant to call though.

I'm so glad ya'll had a good time. Spending time with them is so important.

Our granddaughter's other grandpa spends a lot money on her. Mr worried about that for a while that we didn't have money for her. Now, he see that time is more important. That is what she'll remember.

Ouch Lance! Hope it is feeling better today. (Homeopathic arnica is good for trauma and bruising)

Os, I'm so glad you had a great time.

Pool, nice to have you back, sounds like it was a fun time.

Simple, I hope your daughter is finding some comfort in happy memories. It's so hard to lose a friend at that age.

Louis, your salad looks so good.

Para, I am all in for your leftovers any time except seafood. lol

I just got home from a 12 hour day (all week it seems) and my daughter made us a good carb loading meal. Garlic bread spaghetti boats. She used garlic scapes to make the garlic bread and made one with pesto and one bolognese. Both were delicious!

Looks like everyone has been busy today. It's been an exhausting day here.

I had to go to therapy for shoulder where stuck needles in the muscle again.

Then I had to get a blood test for my thyroid. It shouldn't have been a big deal except it took 2 woman 2 sticks each before they could get the blood. I don't have huge veins, but it's not usually that hard.

I put chicken thighs in the oven earlier. I made Baby mac cheese & green beans. We're having baked zucchini & mushrooms, maybe a chicken sandwich. I bought Hawaiian buns.

Howdy & salutations to Paranoiaaa <3 & all you lovely people on the foodie thread. I hope that everyone is keeping well & having a great week so far. I hope that it's okay to drop a local recipe from my neck of the woods here & to share it with you all. Hope you are feeling better too Lance as that looked like a nasty knock you took to your face. hugs

The Northern Irish Chip Shop Pasty

Here is a very rough & ready recipe for making Northern Irish fish & chip shop Pasties. These are not to be confused with the Cornish pastie & is an entirely different dish.

Combine cooked sausage meat and mashed potatoes. More meat than potatoes also finely chopped onion in a bowl. I would estimate a 60% to 40% ratio meat to potato.

Add a dash (enough to just season) of nutmeg, same of Mace, allspice, coriander, ground ginger, ground cloves & Lots of Pepper.

Mix all the ingredients together and form patties then dust them with flour. Freeze and when they are frozen they will be ready to cook.

The batter is comprised of Self Raising flour and soda water that forms a nice soft batter. Dip the frozen patties into the batter & with a spatula carefully lower them into preheated deep fat and fry them until they are golden brown.

Serve them with a few homemade chips & some bread and butter. Garnish with salt, vinegar, red or brown sauce or not depending on your own taste.

Hope you enjoy these & have a go at making them for yourself. Dear DB <3 tried this recipe & they were a big hit with her children. Thanks for taking the time to read & I will try to bring more local recipes & ideas for meals from my neck of the woods to the thread in the very near future.

The link below is a step by step guide that is easy to follow although they missed out on the onion. peace & hf

Hello & hope that you have a great day ahead of you Louis <3. These pasties are a very different dish altogether. They are not really available on the UK mainland but well worth a try sometime. If you can remember to make them, let me know if you liked them or not. Always great to see you dear Louis <3 & hope to drop back in later to catch up with you. hf

It's too bad "grass-fed beef" isn't medicinal.

don't presume to tell us that have defended you that you don't support every shot we fired to eliminate that enemy.

Re: Food with Attitude!
These are very different from the cornish ones Louis! They are so nice..the batter was what really surprised me. It didn't really give the measurements so I winged it and it said 'until it makes a soft batter' and it really really does! It's all pillowy and cooks up really nice and light in the oil. My son couldn't get enough of them!

and Good morning foodies! I just made some brekky for my son who is helping me with work this morning.
