Take everything out of your pockets, and put that on the bar. 3. Step away from the bar. 4. Bend over and put your head between your legs. 5. Kiss your ass goodbye! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 320708All shall be revealed. Yeah, thing is, that movie didn't have much basis in actual science. The whole idea of radioactive fallout sterilizing the Earth is myth. |

Scientists and medical professionals the world over know that! Since the dawn of the "Nuclear Age" the increase in cancers and all other diseases related to exposure to radioactive materials has increased exponentially. Cancers were rare prior to the "Nuclear Age"! It used to be that 1 in 100 would get cancer, now its down to 1 in 3! Ah, isn't technology wonderful! Stupid humans! |

fnord User ID: 326101 United States 11/17/2007 10:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For starters, if you live downwind from a target, you will need a fallout shelter. This can be as simple as a carefully ventillated slit trench several feet deep, covered with a mound of dirt. You can build one in an afternoon if you know how, but you'll have to stay in it for several days depending on radiation levels. You also need a radiation monitor and enough information to know how to use it. What you do after the worst of the fallout is over, is hook up with other survivors to locate water, find food, shelter, and protection. There is no place to hide from the complete infrastructure collapse that would come from a big nuclear war. |

Be one of thousands fighting over food /water that isn't contaminated? Fighting the mutants that emerge from the radiation? No thanks, just goto a major city and die. I will |
Angry Hybrid User ID: 287309 United States 11/19/2007 04:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The thing is, all the cities are targeted...and though our defense systems are excellent, they havn't actually been given a good 'test drive'. So the best place to hide...well, it depends almost on chance...but I think that the best place to stay will be in a city...there will be law and order there as the society reals from intense blows to the country. Ney York would be a better place to hide than some mountain cave. New York will be the best defended city in the world and will not be destroyed. But of course... |
