The words of Jesus tell us to humble ourselves and obey authorities not for the wellness of society but for the development and salvation of our own soul. Many times people throughout the bible are promoted by God to disobey authorities for the good of society, Judith chopping off a general's head is a perfect extreme example. The bible shows us that when man goes against the will of God for us to do stand up and against it and hold our ground and he will make the enemy flee as he protects us and provides.

Sometimes, though, we may think we're in the right but are in the wrong, and then evil will usually win against us. We have to be stand against evil only when being challenged, but not to challenge evil. I could give examples of this, of losing and winning and winning by grace where I should have lost but Jesus saved me. It's a matter of discernment. If you are being challenged by evil you will win if you trust in God and stand your ground. If you won and then continue to provoke evil Jesus may not be there because you went above and beyond to have power over your enemies which is not his will. Power to defeat their plan is good enough.
