This event would be about half the power of the Tohoku event, and would kill thousands, but it would NOT be a Hollywood-style apocalypse.

Private jets taking off at will, not even coordinating with FAA... it would be bad. Not saying it will happen, but IF it did you can count on the media to NOT tell you until it was too late. We have 1 percent of the world in control and pitting countries against one another like a game of Risk or Monopoly and you think they would "do the right thing". I do not think so. I was thinking the same thing...if that thing slid into the ocean how tf would we know? Any witnesses would be too dead to alert us on social media.
