Loud Boom in Oklahoma-Shook the House
Anybody in NE Oklahoma hear a couple loud booms tonight? They were about 20 minutes apart and shook the house. My sister lives about 10 miles NE and my sons gf lives about 20 miles SW of me and both of them heard it. I’m guessing meteors but have no idea. Anyone out there hear or see anything?

So meteors is your first conclusion? How often does that happen in the world that, that is your first conclusion and not the heavy military aircraft presence in Oklahoma?

Could have been. I do see a shitload of mil helicopters from time to time, even saw an Osprey fly over once. I’m pretty far from Tinker AFB and I don’t remember ever seeing any aircraft going supersonic around here, but yeah, that’s probably more common than meteors, I guess.

I heard a sonic boom from a meteor a couple years ago, so that was my first thought this time. No need to be dickhead.

It just couldn't be that jet that flew over you at 1000+ miles an hour. Nope, better look up meteors. There, I spelled it out for you.

Thanks for checking. I looked on Twitter and couldn’t find anything either. Considering it’s rural Oklahoma, was probably just a meth lab explosion. :)

As I’ve already said, the only time I’ve ever heard a sonic boom that was identified, was in fact a meteor. Try to keep up.
