I first encountered the term in online games. You are the player character. You interact with NPCs which are automatic in all their actions / responses.

I don't think it's quite accurate to describe what we're seeing. My understanding is that real human beings are now outnumbered by fakes of various kinds. Including clones. Which are easily carjacked by demonic and alien entities.

Such as those I found visual evidence of in the thread I made, which did not get pinned. What got pinned, was a new age lah-dee-dah blabbering about how the galactic federation of light is going to rescue us all, weeeeeee everyone get onboard the ships, yaaaay. Yeah. That got pinned.

I heard 90 to 99% were some kind of NPC. But it is not that simple, OP. Some of them want a different script.
